I used to get all my game reviews from Gametrailers. Where should I go now for my video game news and reviews? Gametrailers was the only video game site I cared about.

what kind of a pleb needs someone else's opinion? if you cant tell if you'd like a game just by watching gameplay, then you're a casual.

Go to /v/. I love those guys.
>>330930042
I miss them all, except Ian.
>>330930112
I don't read much about vidya. I only knew about new games that came out because Gametrailers reviewed them.

Gematsu.
>>330929924
What will they do when the patreon doesn't reach its goal?
>>330931154
Kyle will sink into a deep depression. Everyone else will suck it up and find work elsewhere.

i walk in GT only to watch and fap to

tripple chin though ...

That one ManUps where she brought up how self conscious she was about her neck made me think more deeply about people's necks.
>>330931003
That was great

I think they'll succeed. The viewing numbers weren't terrible at GT. It just wasn't a viable business model to depend on ad revenue when you're targeting an audience that is very tech savvy and 99% of them have ad-block installed.
All they need is a couple of thousand fans engaged enough to be willing to pay for the content they make and they'll be fine. Maybe they wont be able to have a big enough staff to review every game or do the massive retrospectives, but they could definitely give each person their show back.
GT = MTV
Gamespot = VH1
IGN = Fuse
EGMNOW = CMT
Gameinformer = BET
PROVE ME WRONG

If they keep the 8 (9?) staff they had, and stayed in San Fran (or was is LA?), they'd need $400k a month from a Patreon just to scrape by. If they moved to Texas or something they'd need less, and they could even get Damiani back.
>>330933396
Why the hell would they need $400k a month?
>>330933396
>a year
I'm retarded
>>330933050
>>330933396
Don and Matt didn't post the 3/21 image, so they're probably out, but Damiani has expressed interest in coming back.
Their videos were popular but their streams (if you want to see those as the viewers most likely to give Patreonbux) would be lucky to hit 500. That final stream is probably the most Twitch viewers they've ever had at once.
If they temper their expectations (and get rid of Bloodworth) there's hopefully a good chance for them.
>>330933969
I rarely ever watched the twitch streams because I'm in a different timezone. There could be a lot of other people around the world in the same position.
>>330933969
I doubt Matt will come back. His job at GT was to help run the actual GT site. Presumably the new version of GT will be solely on youtube. There's just no reason to spend on building an external site.
Don is also more of a behind-the-scenes guy. He edited videos, but with the scale of the new GT, Ian should be able to handle all of that.
>>330933969
I feel like I'm one of the only ones who didn't mind Bloodworth. Least interesting guy on panel but he wrote good reviews.
>>330935354
I like him too but I don't know if there's room for him on a smaller crew. Unless they get enough money to maintain a review staff, his "job" would be showing up for 1 hour of GT Time (or whatever the new equivalent of that will be) each week.
>basing your game purchases on 1 reviewer
I...I'm at a lost for words.
>>330935736
All they'd be doing is making videos, and that's be their entire workweek. That's 40 hours a week (or more depending on how dedicated they got, I know they did a lot of unpaid OT at GT) among 6+ staff. No reason they couldn't all just do reviews. Might not be as fancily edited, but they could do it.
Also, Bloodworth could get his own show, though I really don't think it'd turn out well. Unless he did the music ones again.
>>330935282
>Ian should be able to handle all of that.
Brandon is also an editor so there's that.
>>330935962
it's a doggy dog world
>>330936347
When Brandon was a guest on the Kinda Funny podcast he said the first thing he wanted to bring back was the shows, like Final Bosman. Reviews would be further down the line since it demands more dedication than you think apparently.
>>330935736
I'd trade Blood for Ben getting a permaspot on a podcast.
everyone (but don and matt I think) tweeted some cryptic shit a few days ago so I assume they're starting up again soon. or at least starting up a patreon or some shit like that
I'd imagine their relaunch would mostly start up with a podcast and streaming with shows being number one priority for new shit and stuff like reviews being on the backburner.
whether that's good or not is up to you to decide I guess.
>>330931003
>We really are the Final Bosmans
>Making the pinecone from that one bonus bit relevant
Bosman is a genius.
I just wish Bosman would continue doing the show, regardless of how shitty.
The man was just refreshing to watch, especially nowadays.
>>330939475
It'll probably come back under a different name since Defy owns The Final Bosman and denied him the rights to it.
>>330939686
We can only hope. Also what a fucking dick move.
