Well, the right way to do it would be starting in safe mode and using DDU to unistall the drivers completely. The "clean install" feature in the installer will work well most of the time, but it's not 100% free of errors since some driver files could still being in use when it's installing the new one. If you want to be safe do the safe more + DDU thing, otherwise just use the clean install feature which is much faster.
