Well I can't get into Monster Hunter, but I love Toukiden. I think the difference was that Toukiden is really flashy and feels a lot less clunkier. Would argue that MH fan wouldn't get along with Toukiden all that well.

What is there to enjoy? You sit around like an autist until the monster finally chills out for half a second 5 min later, then you use the slowest attacks imaginable or the weakest attacks imaginable to attack the monster for 5 out of its 1,000,000 hp. If boredom finally gets to you, you get slapped in the face for half your HP and have to run and dodge until you can heal.
There's nothing enjoyable about MonHun.

I don't think you've played much MH. See, both games have quests of similar length with boss monsters that take just a long to take out. The difference is in MH you have to think on your feet more during that amount of time, whereas in Toukiden it's just a mash fest.

Asthetics are bland and boring, monsters in multiplayer have inflated HP making fights tedious, monster design is boring, armors are generic asian shit you have seen a million times in dynasty warriors and chinese mmos. Its just a mediocre game all around. I wish God Eater 2 came out on PC or PS4 instead.

I never played Toukiden but I played like 50 or so hours of MonHun.
It was fun at first because it was new stuff to me. But once you get past the new novelty, you realize it's boring grindy shit where you do the same fucking thing very slowly for hours trying to get 3 of a single rare part with a 1% chance to drop on a monster that takes 20 min min to kill.
It's not in any way hard to play. It's just boredom personified. The only time you get hit is when boredom finally gets the better of you and you try to end the hunt just a little quicker. All for a new armor set that does almost nothing for you.

Then you can imagine how much worse Toukiden is for it. It just depends whether you have a good set of friends or not to play with. The gameplay stays interesting enough and they're good at giving you different fights as you progress, and grinding those same fights with your friends is enjoyable since communicating with each other helps out more than it would in Toukiden. And this is coming from someone that never finishes G-Rank quests.

Not him but what's the fucking point of grinding a monster you know you can kill with certainty if there's no reward? It's not hard to kill any of the monsters. The only thing you need is patience.

We could have had better graphics, larger maps, more complicated monsters, or a variety of other good shit by now but because you are all faggots, they are content to stay on the weakest hardware available so they can deliver the most mediocore experience possible with the least money they can spend despite it being on of their biggest series.

I'm glad clones actually give it some variety if you're tired of same old Monster Hunter.
It's okay but has some poorly thought out ideas, grinding for monster drops is pretty quick at first but when you get to the ultimate tier it becomes slow as fuck because monsters of the ultimate tier can also drop pieces of expert tier monsters.
Another funny thing is that in the post game after the kiwami story is done you get the ability to craft armor that looks the same as previous ones you had but with good stats using ultimate tier monster materials (their way of letting use any armor you like the look of). But here's where it gets weird, since ultimate tier oni drop both ultimate and expert tier parts some ultimate exclusive oni also have two sets of identical looking armor (one using expert parts, one using ultimate parts), which is pointless since you get the ability to craft both at the same time. It's a funny oversight.

How is this game single player? Monster Hunter became hell on earth for a single man after a while is Toukiden any better? I always play with this mentality of having to beat very unique monster once, wanting to beat every challenge the game throws at me. Will Toukiden keep me going along longer or will I just burn out without any friends with this game as well?

Absolutely nothing over MH. Make the enemies piss easy and give yourself near Dynasty Warrior level of combat and there you go, you have Toukiden. It never gets better either. Unless you run the end story missions with no npcs and your hands tied behind your back the game offers no challenge. Also it's bland looking and generic as fuck.

The flashy skills and limb chopping wouldn't be as much of an issue if the game offered any challenge or change for shit done. Even the weapons lack any real weight, they all feel about the same, excluding the ranged ones, and while some may have you flying across the air vs attacking on foot you don't really have to change up your mindset or playstyle to achieve. Unfortunately that's the only thing they give. The only "clone" that did it right was Soul Sacrifice, as it had its own personality, and the hurdles you had to get over to get to the meat of the game differed from every other. Also god tier story and characters.

MonHun as of late has singleplayer, but MP is clearly where the meat of the game is at. All other clones generally have stronger SP. Skipping singleplayer in something like Soul Sacrifice is a goddamn waste of money, for example.

The NPCs in Kiwami are more than enough to handle the story mode. They fall off against high rank missions but that shit is only for grindwhores anyway. Anyway with the way scaling works it actually easier to do things solo and just stunlock bosses.

actually I think the gameplay MAY become better than MH, but Koei have a history of fucking things up or getting everything stale
