I didn't. Our SNES came with Killer Instinct and my parents took it away because they thought it was too violent. They'd regularly screen games to make sure my brother and I weren't playing stuff that was too violent for us, which they judged themselves rather than relying on the rating. The corridor before Cyborg Ninja was the most violent thing I came across as a young lad, since my parents didn't know about that. As we got older my parents also respected that and allowed us to play more violent games, even if we hadn't yet met the age rating.
My parents would certainly have not had me sitting with them while they yell and swear at strangers in a video game because they got angry about it.
