What, you found an idiot on the Internet? Holy shit, and so on. But if Wasteland 2 is what you'd praise instead, my two cents on that is that the game looks like an ugly piece of shit, full of empty, ugly as hell floors and pavements. The interface looks like vomit too and the character system also, full of shitty skills and the "+5% to reloading shotguns" that never fucking ends. Never.
Hell, Fallout 1&2 probably sucked just as hard. Yeah, the dialogue was good. And collecting stuff, and improving your character, the quests. And so on; the highlights and the addictive part about it all. But take the combat for instance. It was gamey shit made by monkeys. There were no tactics involved. It was aiming for the eyes, abusing the corners, savescumming, drug using, running away like a bitch into the next corner to abuse, minmaxing your character because else you'd have to savescum more, critical hits derp derp, and if all of it failed, you could at least savescum some more. The main thing in the game was what sucked the most. But I played it nonetheless. Why? No idea. And I loved it. Even when mostly everything about it sucked.
And Fallout has always sucked. Bethesda was the perfect company to gain the IP. The end.

what's so dumb about the quote? pullquotes are never all that trenchant or incisive. he's saying that wasteland 2 is like an updated fallout title, which is basically is. most people playing games don't recall the original wasteland, so it's an attept to make it relatable to a broader audience. the quote does that.
