Heart issues, I get extreme exhaustion and can't hold a job. Most days I sleep 16-20 hours and I've had four heart surgeries in the last 5 years with another possible in the next 10 months. I used to go to university for graphic design but had to drop out once all my heart problems surfaced and I've not had the physical ability to go back since. Now I almost never leave the house. I've tried freelance in the past which has paid a few bills, but I've only gotten worse and worse physically and can no longer finish projects for clients in a timely manner.
I used to have a bright future but I guess I get to sleep the rest of my life away. I've not tried the LP market, though I have attempted on a few occasions to get a graphic novel published. It's just far too much work for what limited amount of time I'm physical able to work each day, so all my publishing deals have fallen apart.

I've also toyed with the idea of doing a Matthewmatosis style longform vidya review channel that goes into deep analysis of the art of gaming, from mechanical interplay to sound design in horror titles, to inventive graphical elements that make gaming such a unique medium. Though I majored in graphic design, I minored in art history so the analyses I'd make would draw heavily on that education and style of analysis (heavily involved and in-depth, exhaustive analysis of technique, implementation, etc).
For example, examining the differences between Bioshock Infinite's usage of recharging shields compared to Halo's, and how Halo uses its weapon sandbox to compliment the aspect of regenerating shields over limited health via a rock-paper-scissors system, as well as weapon placement in combat scenarios to create an ebb and flow in power dynamics throughout the course of any given level. Infinite doesn't do this at all and greatly suffers as a result in comparison. Not that Halo's system is the most complex or hardcore or anything, but it was well balanced around the game's specific strengths, allowing a unique facet to Bungie's "30 seconds of fun" loop that virtually all copycats have failed to emulate.
Or examining the use of sound engineering and mixing in various games, like Alien Isolation, to maximize or highlight certain elements that otherwise go unnoticed by the player. Applied color theory in level to subtly guide players in Journey or Shadowrun, world design philosophy differences between open world games, like a comparison of GTAIV and Burnout Paradise and how their philosophies differ in terms of how content is packed around each other.
