You ARE aware that VR is just a glorified walking simulator machine and not a video game peripheral, right /v/?
VR will revolutionize ASMR.
It will do nothing for gaming. And that's okay.
>all the illegal VR porn.
World will end.
>>330621936
VR will usher in the waifu age
Flash forward a few months.
>Non stop Oculus posts
>Non stop HTC Vive posts
Those without VR will be labeled as poorfags.
>Poorfags will be jealous
>Donald Trump elected
>VR price goes up because of import taxes
VR keeps getting better
>sex stuff almost turns /v/ to a pink board
>eventually VR gets a containment board
>Trump starts WW3
>poor fags drafted
>VR master race leads troops from cyberspace
VR objectively gived you ab advantage in FPS, allowing you to control the camera and crosshair independently of eachother flawlessly.

How illegal can 3D models get?
>>330622086
I watched too much, I'm immune now, even after a 1 year break
I miss those feels man
>>330622479
>Donald Trump elected
perfect world
>>330621936
>not a video game peripheral
>is an output device
you're dumb as fuck
>>330622617
>implying the child pornographers of the world won't upgrade to 3D 360 degree cameras for making their content
It's not even VR, it's a fucking screen strapped to your face.
>>330621936
anon pls, the real endgame of VR is for the porn gaming is just an added bonus here
I'm in it for the porn and nothing more.
That being said I'm not paying 600 bucks to jack off to a new thing. Once it becomes more affordable on some of the nicer models I'll probably pick one of them up.
>>330621936
It's just for pron
You guys should try VR porn
It's great
Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with VR goggles
>>330622873
What is your def of VR?
Cause last I checked holdeck and matrix is not what is commonly referred to VR is the real world
>>330623049
I gotta ask. Sauce?
>implying the majority of the public even has the necessary 970
Steam says I do 30 hours every 2 weeks and I don't even have one.
>>330623951
VR is when you can drop down in real life to take a clip and your virtual ego will do literally the same. Basically, when you will have a near 1:1 controller.
>>330621936
>glorified walking simulator machine
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SI1CB4rcf8
>>330624237
That's your weird definition of VR, not the common lands.
>>330624294
>walking through space
Fallout, ES
>walking simulators
you can do some interesting things with it but it's really just a gimmick for enthusiasts most of the money they make on it will be outside the videogame industry anyway
>>330621936
Women will begin selling 3D scans of their bodies. People will begin literally pirating each other. Riggers will be earning the real money building skeletons for all the 3D scanned women.
>>330622657
Try another language.
I switched to Russian asmr and am getting all the tingles back.
>>330624330
No, mine is actual vr, theirs is poor man's vr. If my head is immersed in 3D but nothing else, it completely fucking misses the point.
Oh hey I'm in a football field. Can I fucking kick the ball? Sure, press square.
>>330621936
You have the ability to use your hands, so we can at least get a GOAT VR Punch-Out or Fight Night. I'd buy it if one of those games were released.
>VR games have to be either on rails or cockpit games to prevent motion sickness
Dropped.
>>330624294
after watching that in fullscreen with headphones, VR isn't much more immersive compared to that
>>330622873
>>330624649
You could probably acheive that with a kinect.
The hand controllers are 1:1.
>>330624649
So what?
We should hold back all VR development because we need everything at once.
That makes no sense.
Visual is a good portion of the battle.
Everyone already has the next step ready: seeing your own hands in VR. After that you can imagine there is so much shit. Eventually you will get what you want with tactile sensation. But it might never happen if there isn't a market for Oculus and Vive.
>>330621936
With that angle, all first person games are nothing but glorified walking simulators.
>cant afford VR
I-I dont even want it.
>>330624961
What do you have to gain to shitpost against VR?
Who are you working for?
It'll be wagglan all over again.
>>330624649
one step at a time f a m. technology doesnt just pop out like that, also they have to consider how much r&d they're willing to sink in vs the amount they can sell the product with profit 600-800$ is already a hard sell for most but it can't be helped since adpoting early tech is normally expensive
>>330621936
The real use for VR certainly will be for porn and VR-movies.
There will be some gaming applications, but VR probably won't become affordable and thus mainstream in many years.
What I am looking forward too much more is AR.
Proper and widespread AR would so drastically transform our lives.
IMPLYING THIS ISNT THE FUTURE OF VIDEO GAMES

>>330621936
I dont think i can see clearly with a vr headset. I need glasses
>>330625826
Glasses work with VR. You can adjust the headset to make space for them.
