There are some parts where max has to awkwardly jump over gaps, you can just run over the wall and it feels better, you can also use wall jump to do cool shit, and the game also ads more slow mo dodges that are done by pressing movement key followed by jump (while the traditional dodges are done by pressing movement key and jump at the same time)

In the base game all max doesn't have many movement options, but with this mod you have way more moves which opens up a lot of gameplay options, for example

This webm wouldn't have been possible without this mod, you would have to instead wait for each laser to open a gap so you can jump over it

Also there isn't a similar mod for MP2 as far as I know.

Yes, except you can't shoot while wall running, you can shoot as soon as you jump off the wall but not while actually running.

Every other dodge move (like the first one you see in the webm to jump over two lasers at the same time) allows you to shoot while airborne

Here is another example of a new air dodge where you can shoot while doing it (sideways dodge used to jump over the lasers)

This mod was made during the golden age of pc gaming, games nowadays don't have gameplay that comes close to this, or it's done via quicktime events instead of real time

Jesus fuck me. Holy shit this looks like fun. I wish MP2 had a kung fu mod.

Problem is I literally finished a MP1 and MP2 replay a few weeks ago and don't feel like replaying them again immediately. God I wish mods would be as good as this again, this is a full mechanics overhaul. I was trying to think of other games that have mechanics even similar to this, and everything else just has linear type mechanics, just press X and the game does an animation and movement for you. If I am not mistaken you have full or at least partial control over Max while in the air right? The fucking precision of movement and control here looks amazing.

It's called Kung Fu mod right? Where do I download? Is it easy to install?

Not completely, you can choose max's trajectory with your mouse, deepening on where you aim right before jumping, max will tilt to that way, but once you jump you're under gravity's mercy (which makes it more exciting for me imo since sometimes you aren't sure if you're going to pull some jump off or just fall to your death).

But yeah it's amazing how a simple mod makes an already good game so much better, and you actually have to use kung fu in game to level it up (there are 3 levels, each level gives you new combos and an ability, you get wall jump at level 2, and wall run at level 3).

Nope it doesn't. Doesn't cost any time units to drop things (grenades included) either. Or to move things around in your inventory, though picking things up does cost time units.

It doesn't seem overpowered or anything either, though if you have enough time units you can fly over enemies and drop explosives and run away.

I've been watching some lets plays of the game too and at some point you can get personal teleporters that allow you to teleport to anywhere on a map for like 30 time units so that kind of thing is overpowered but being overpowered in the late game is fun.

You can download OpenApoc right now and try out what little features they have. Basically all you can do is watch ships fly around the map and put things on your ships though. It's cool seeing it running so well though.

kinda, but your doing set missions with a 4 man cyborg team. you can customize them in tons of ways too. you can do a good lot of neat things in the environments as well.

not sure how well it holds up though, last time i played it was 1997.

But X-COM has ayy lmaos, the way it works with them infiltrating organisations, and how every single piece of equipment, vehicle, etc you have actually came from somewhere and those company's buildings might be the ones you end up in missions in, etc is just so fucking awesome.

Nah it's fine, already got it up working perfect. As I said I just finished playing MP1 & 2 the other week, all I had to do was copy paste the mod in and it worked straight away.

Is there a new game, all I can see is the tutorial dojo and level select? Can I run through from a new game or just select level?


Also do you know of any good MP2 mods. May as well replay 2 if I am going to replay 1.

If you have a shitty or below-average CPU (Like I do, have an fx 4350 quad) use hardware mode DX11.

Problem is, you'll get fucked up textures on some games, but if you can get passed that, you can have fun.
