As a PCfag I would like to point that this game is nothing special at all. It has a lot of potential, but can't pull off what it aims.
It doesn't do decent survival aspects. At all.
Horror aspect of the game is above average, but again, is let down with artificial difficulty bullshit. Playing this game on anything than easiest difficulty breaks immersion. I played on Survivor and was constantly reminded why I hate the game. AI is stupid as fuck too. NPCs (hostile and friendly) don't feel like anything.

plz. The way the AI acts in that video is not representative of how it actually is. It's cherry picked as fuck and i've never seen the AI that bad in all of my numerous playthroughs. I don't know what that guy did to his to make the AI act like that.
The AI is a very mixed bag, but calling it bad is plain wrong. Try playing the game on Grounded

Ellie constantly walks stands up and runs, and is invisible to hostile NPC, but breaks immersion constantly. Then there is the fact that hostile NPC can be taken down in the same spot, countless times, while PC is hiding behind the chair.
This is enough for me to make this game 5/10.
Artificial Difficulty part:
Welp, when someone shoots the shit out of you with an assault rifle, then gets a brick to the face and knocked the fuck out MMA style, and has nothing on it. I think it counts as artificial difficulty. In my book. You might have a different book.

Ill admit the gameplay itself isn't all that special. the fighting can be hit and miss, weapons and crafting are ok tier and I could never get into online fighting. A decent console style "survival" horror even though everything is scripted so it gives itself a little too much credit in that regard
Ii will say the story is one of the best ive ever played. Im a sucker for a decent plot and they really did a fantastic job with it and building the game around it. that's why Ive always like it at least, despite the "lol so popular it must be shit" attitude from this board

This is the dumbest complaint people have. It was either that, or make her visible to enemy AI and have her fuck up your stealth all the time. Maybe if they spent a fuck load more time on her AI they could make it work, but it just wasn't practical and in my experience barely ever noticeable and I'm sorry it triggers your ocd

It's a good game with a great campaign and an even better story mode. It was just grossly overrated by journalists, so /v/ will always have an eternal hate boner for it. It's no where near as good as OP says tho.

The only thing i thought this game did well was the real time crafting with the backpack.
Felt quite nice, to be forced to do crafting as a tactical decision.
Did anyone else here play the fuck out of the 4v4 no respawns multiplayer mode? It was so fun and so tense. Absolutely loved it.
