Pretty much this. There were several times where I was legit stuck and had to consult a manual. Admittedly, I was probably 12 at the time, but I had it happen again when I was somewhere around 20. OoT only really had the water temple as it's one slight. I can't say I much enjoyed any of the MM dungeons

Time limit is really the wrong word for this. You have enough time to dick around and unlock the next checkpoint in form of the owl statues or some crucial item/mask at your own pace. Ad no point was I under any form of pressure.
If anything, the schedules and time based sidequests added more life to the world.
Only thing i agree is fishing. really missed that in MM. haven't played the 3DS version yet.

While you have an actual in game timer in OOT the ocarina itself is a more important plot point in OOT than MM.
Majora's Mask is much more about the mask and the moon.

How is it more of a plot point in OoT? In MM you have 3 days essentially before the moon kills everyone, its a big factor. you have different times for different events happening throughout the three days.

In the scheme of things the Mask and Moon have a much greater focus put on them than the Ocarina itself.
In OOT it's handed down to you as this mystical instrument that can open the temple of time so you can beat Ganon and all that fancy shit.
If OOT didn't exist it would still make more sense to call MM Majora's Mask.
