1v1 games are the purest form of casual filter. By simplifying the game you are only making it easier for good players. That's why it's really hard to make accessible fighting game or RTS. And no, smash and mobas aren't either of those.

But Street Fighter is a very casual game, there is no need for time commitment. Players can pick up, play a few games, and then leave and that is very much what casual games are, you don't have to master everything or grind for months to get everything and there is no reason to be on constantly.
