Hmm.. I'm 23 now and I remember it being the coolest fucking thing ever, even if my parents didn't think it was cool, I had my little group of friends that did, and I just thought 'fuck everyone else'. It's why I still play vidya today, I'm just depressed because it's become so shitty since the novelty has certainly been removed from the scene.
