HOLY SHIT this game looks pretty good, and I've never even heard about it, what the fuck guys? Looks like a mix of Hitman and the Godfather, it turned me on.
Anyone hype? Should I play the first ones before I play this? Alekhine's Gun thread I guess
Just go play Death to Spies and save yourself some time, money and worry.
what is it?

This unsold me on the game if that's what it is.
Even though the reviews are cancerous, I might just pirate it to see if I actually like the game and then buy it on Steam.
Or just wait till it's 80% off.

if reviewers hate it, it must be good. because the games they love, are shit.

It's really bad. It has potential to be great but how it got past quality control is beyond everyone who played it.
>>330370684
what's bad? the mechanics (gameplay) or is it just buggy?

Not that bad, but definitly not a great game.

nice gonna watch this now

But Absolution IS a 9/10. Just because they added a bunch of combat elements to the game doesn't make the actual gameplay bad.

Gripes I've had with Absolution is that everyone says how fluid the control is, but I haven't played with a pad and I don't get it. Otherwise, it was all small problems that annoyed me - 47 can no longer close doors behind him (really annoying if you really want to slip into a room and hide in a small window of opportunity), the cover system was silly and NPCs who should totally see me do not because of a magic button (I should be able to just take cover by crouching behind stuff, it allowed for some clever traps in previous games), the rules for max rating on the level are inconsistent and weird (some levels let you be a Silent Assassin, some only a Shadow, some only a Specialist because they have no evidence, one level is bugged and you can't achieve a max rating on it and it was never fixed, and some levels don't care and you can just shoot everyone; those also happen to be shitty transition pieces), replenishing Instinct if you employed a disguise-heavy playstyle was annoying (I did not enjoy luring NPCs to a safe spot to subdue them and hide them for the sole purpose of getting some Instinct back).
Of course all the usual complaints still apply, but those are the main ones that made this a chore. It was challenging enough that I might consider doing a Purist/Suit Only playthrough, but I have more fun games to play in the genre.
