Is it really that big of a deal to get a Vita slim over a normal Vita? Is it a day and night difference, or is the slim still good?
Comparison pictures don't help much. I need to compare them in person. The OLED screen seems nice, but it seems too bulky compared to the Vita slim.

The slim is easier to hold because of the lighter weight and slightly better ergonomics. It also has a better battery life and the internal storage is useful if you are physical only and don't want to buy a memory card.
The only advantage of the old model is the OLED screen, so get that if you consider it more important.

slim is nice but if you buy that version since its matte and not that retarded plastic shit from the black version. The original is nice for the screen but dies out to fast and its kind of heavy compare to the slim. I have both version and honestly only use my slim now.

If you want a great screen and build quality get the phat. If you want better battery life and ergonomics get the slim. The slim also has a lot of ghosting on that shitty LCD.

Slim's screen is noticeably worse in all regards. The OLED screen is much better.
If anyone honestly complains about weight then they need to eat more than water and celery.

The OLED screen on the fat is gorgeous. I don't consider either of them to be very ergonomic but the slim is slightly better. Memory card costs are a huge downside. Whichever one you choose to get, the Vita is a really cool handheld. Shame it didn't see more success.

Slim is sexier, lighter, more comfy to hold, and has a longer lasting battery.
However the extra battery juice isn't so substantial that one should sacrifice the OLED...

Also, some accessories, like the hori trigger grips, don't work as well with the slim as they did with the phat. There is the Japanese l2r2 accessory, which afaik only supports the slim, if you're into remote play.

This is probably bait, but honestly I like my slim (I imported the light blue/white one) more then my OLED.
It feels better, is lighter, and doesn't collect as many fingerprints (though since mine is white thats probably why).
Theres nothing wrong with the OLED though. If I didn't have a PSTV I would keep both tied to my account.

The OLED is nice because it looks nice and has a "technically" better screen. But it's also bigger, heavier, with a worse battery life, and you need a proprietary charger for it.
Slim also looks nice, doesn't need a special charger, is very light, and unless you're looking at the two screens right next to eachother you'd honestly never know the difference.
I had a 1000 and got a 2000 and don't touch my 1000 anymore.
That blue vita, makes me want to buy another one.
