Will Harvest Moon ever return to the glory days of FOMT/BTN, HM64, and AWL? Or is the series doomed to mediocrity, getting their western branding fucked over, and Rune Factory being superior in every way?

Future Harvest moons are getting PC release, but the devs have changed and are making it into a shitty mobile game. Meanwhile the original devs are making a new series called story of seasons, no word on a PC release but I'm hopeful it will one day make it.

There was a new harvest moon announced, the problem is when they dropped the title, I think the rights to the name was equally owned by two companies, one that is the original team that did the last one which was Story of Seasons, and the other one that tended to create subpar versions, but this time has put effort in with better graphics and 3 villages, has japanese only magazine information floating around, while looking pretty cool, but most likely mechanically flawed if past experience is to go by.
I dunno wtf that indie copy cat shit is about though. Tired of the west blasting ideas Hollywood style just because they're too dumb to research or appreciate the original.

Naw the "Harvest Moon" name was and still is owned by the Natsume which the jap company lost access to when they decided to instead use i a different localization team which i think they themselves own hence the name change. So Natsume chose to bank off of the established recognizable brand name and are now making their own shitty games with the name Harvest Moon attached to them So now Story of Seasons is the genuine Harvest Moon sequels and the games Titled Harvest Moon are just now shitty ripoffs

HM64 and BTN were the most aesthetically pleasing games in the series to me. That isometric view worked really well for some reason.

Does Marvelous just hire the cheapest programmer they can find for Harvest Moon? I know the Wii wasn't a powerhouse, but the game should have run better than it did considering it Rune Factory Frontier was on the same system. Story of Seasons also has terrible performance.
