How do I convince my roommate he's a retard for hating Resident Evil 4 solely because you "can't walk and shoot at the same time"? It drives me nuts every time because I know it's an amazing game for lots of reasons but I can never seem to win against him when he tells me the clunky controls make the game completely invalid.

My roommate's the exact same way, but I gave up on him for being a retard with no semblance of taste.
He also refuses to play any game that's 2D, or games with 3D models that play on a sort of 2D plane like Soulcalibur.

Resident Evil survived on graphics alone. It was a shit game that appealed to people that had never played a Resident Evil game before. It helped create a huge rift in the community that even Resident Evil 3 didn't manage to accomplish.

I only play competetive fps because playing rpgs and fighting games means you're so patehetic that you need to escape reality by staring blankly at a computer screen pretending you're a 12-polygon elf warrior then you log off and realize you're still pathetic.

The entire game is balanced around the inability to move and shoot. It's like saying Counter Strike is completely invalid because you can't sprint without losing accuracy. The game is designed around it; that's why in spite of your low mobility it's relatively easy to avoid taking damage if you aren't retarded. You outrange the enemies and they're all much slower than you. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this means "run to put some distance between you and the enemies then exploit your ranged weapons to murder them. On top of that basically every projectile attack enemies have can be blocked by shooting the projectile out of the air. I haven't played much of RE6, but I do remember that it added the ability to move and shoot and as a result, the enemies you fight are also more mobile than the ones in RE4. In addition the map designs tended to be a bit larger and more open compared to RE4.
