2 is closer to my heart than 3, but 3 was just a lot more replayable, and didn't have hit scan.
1 was obviously the most impactful, but the multiplayer has aged poorly, and is kind of clunky and slidey. Plus, that pistol is broken
I've heard 5 has a strong Forge mode, but without the community and File share/bungie.net integration of 3, it's kind of pointless in a way.

Pure gameplay isn't the end all be all for multiplayer games. Halo 2 may be the better game for competitive play, but Halo 3 is unrivaled in it's community and custom game/forge scene.

I didn't even know that about 5, but it turned out pretty okay. Story was forgettable, but still pretty fun, and the multiplayer is good, even though it's practically Titanfall now. At least everyone spawns with the same weapons, unlike H4.

Yea, my second and third for best ost is reach and 2a. I just have biased g for smooth jazz and piano. All halo games, minus 4, sans like 2 tracks, have amazing soundtracks. I really would like Marty to join up for h6 since bungie was such a mess.

Because thats what i loved about the trilogy as well as Reach. Sure the gameplay was awesome but it was the story that really made those games special to me. Arbiter and chielf starting out as enemies and then having to learn to work together just to survive and becoming bros. Cortanna actually being a good character (unlike 4+5), Sargent johnson being a badass, guilty spark , the gravemind, the prophets being manipulative cunts, there was so just much about the halo story i loved

Its hard to say. Wasn't a huge fan of 4. I sunk thousands of hours into 2's multiplayer. 5 had the most solid gameplay and the multiplayer was awesome.

Best story, best level designs, best multiplayer maps, best gameplay, brought much more on the table than any other game in the series both in terms of mechanic and content. It prioritizes consistency in quality over quantity.
