It's about 8-10 hours long, a few hours longer if you want all 3 endings.
The gameplay is hit-or-miss(it's a mixture of RPG andBullet Hell mechanics), but I personally enjoyed it, simple as it was.
Also the soundtrack is kickass.
It's worth it if you like 2D/pixel stuff and don't have a problem with gimmicky combat. There's also not-so-subtle prohomo content, but doesn't go full on "let's touch weenies", so it doesn't get too in the way.

As long as you don't know a whole lot about what you're getting into. Ideally it's best if you literally know nothing about it (even the selling points), because spoilers fuck the game over something awful. That being said, here's some info on it if you need more convincing, but it'll damage the experience slightly as a result.Gameplay is solid, not amazing, but it gets more fun as it goes on.
Characters are fun, not "great" characters, but very good examples of archetypical characters done right, with a few exceptions to the formula (Alphys is fucking ass).
Humor depends on if you like puns, absurdist humor, audio jokes, and more. I personally loved the stuff but I see why people would not like it.
Puzzles are easy and are really just a way to make traveling through the overworld more interesting.
Music is 10/10, enhances the experience tenfold, has leitmotif out the ass and makes it work exceptionally well. Every track felt perfectly suited for every situation, and even the stuff not on the soundtrack, the edits to certain tracks for specific instances, work phenomenally.
Also there's a fuckhuge amount of attention to detail and flavor text to just about everything.
