MGSV and Fallout 4 did not do open-world well.
The Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and MGSV all have different approach to open world, each of them is unique. I don't have a problem with these games.
The real concern is a cookie cutter soulless open world games made by Ubisoft, WB games and EA is appearing to join them soon. Ubisoft have said on their recent investors meeting that they only going to produce open world game from now on, it's a fucking disaster considering how shallow, similar and shitty Ubisoft open world game are. You may have had some fun playing one of them for the first time, but it gets real old real fast.

I liked Witcher 3's approach because, shit like monster dens, bandits and places of power aside, majority of shit was in places where it made sense - places of civilization like villages and big towns.
