They took the league of legends model, all updates/balance changes are free, skins/cosmetics are $ and new characters can be paid for with in game money or $
Capcom has stated many many times that they wont re-release the game. I wouldnt trust capcom either but given that the league model is so successful and the re-release model is so abysmal it really doesnt surprise me that they are going this route. They want SFV to be a proper e-sport because thats where the money is, Capcom realises this now and thats why they are making all these changes.

In SFV, they've said that the original disc is the only disc you'll ever need to buy. All balance fixes will be free. All characters will be unlockable with in-game currency you get just from playing the game.

Considering there's no day one character to work towards right now, it's assumed a lot of the content in the game will be unlockable. Yeah, I'm not a fan of the game, but holy fuck MKX can keep a nigga busy. No wonder the casuals flock to it, and it was one of the best-selling games of the year. I think it outdid SFIV's lifetime sales, actually. Like fucking EVERYBODY was playing it.
And I guess that's the tradeoff? Smash Bros is like that, too - a ton of content and unlockables and modes and menus and holy fuck there's just so much. But it's a shallower game, and it's clear not as much time was spent on the actual GAME part of it, which ought to be the most important.

I blame that on Sakurai being stupid with Smash after Melee. Uprising and Meteos shows that he can do a game with tons of content AND have depth.
I'm not crazy on what I've seen so far, I'd still take SF4 had they both been released today.
What I do like:
- improved online system
- improved U.I
What I don't like:
- the characters
- the music
- the fighting
- the backgrounds, they look worse than SF4 and they don't match with the style of the characters.

Yeah, MKX was one of the top selling games of this year, only after Black Ops III if I remember right. I don't care how many "casuals" come to SFV because I am one. And the more money Capcom gets from people like me means the more characters and shit they'll add for people like you. It's a win-win.

Almost all of the characters from USF4 were returning, they were all remixes, and yes I loved them. I'm not talking about the design of the stages, I'm talking about the graphics, and for the time SF4 looked a hell of a lot better than SF5 does.

The character himself has a lot more personality than most of the cast, his unorthodox playstyle is really enjoyable and I really like his narcissism.

If you're the same guy as before, you seem to keep referring to the NEW characters that SF4 introduced. Yeah I wasn't crazy about them (save for Juri and Viper), but they were a tiny part of the 40+ roster. But sorry, Fukasawa did an awesome job with the original themes. The remixes from SF5 are shit in comparison.
