After playing it for a couple hours I came to the conclusion that Dragon's Dogma and Dark Souls are absolutely nothing alike.
I played this last year on ps3, I liked it but got bored after like 9 hours because of the lack of any sort of convenient fast travel and constantly being over encumbered and having to make long boring treks back to a merchant to sell shit (I loot EVERYTHING in games like this).
I just watched some footage for the PC port and goddamn, that combat in 60fps, instant load times, infinite fast travel orb thing, shit textures but amazing lighting, etc.
I really am in the mood to buy it on PC and start over with it again, but one thing I noticed watching gameplay vids was it seems like the terrible pop-in was still there, not just environment stuff, but there was a group of goblins and if you were standing like 40 feet away you only saw the closest 4 goblins but when you got to 30 feet or so a 5th goblin pops in. Does anyone know how prevelent this enemie pop-in issue is on PC? Or if it's fixable through config tweaks or mods?

Why is Mystic Knight so underwhelming? I spent way too long playing other vocations just so my stats would be balanced and to get the augments I want and now that I can safely settle in and play the actual vocation I wanted to play all I can muster is a shallow "meh".

May seem like it at first, thanks to all the effects making things hard to read sometimes. But the more you play, the more you'll get the hang of it. Try to not change your equipped skills too much at first, as this will only lengthen the learning of the basics.

You don't need to know any pattern here. You only need to know if the enemy is about to attack or not, if he is, dodge, block or run away depending on your class. A few enemy have really quick attacks that are hard to avoid but most class have counters for this too. It's a game that demands less precision in predicting hits and attacks but it still has great combat flow especially when facing more than one enemy.
I hope you fuckers didn't give the king back his amulet. Its a -10% cast speed just for having it in your inventory.

its more about murdering bosses than anything else. Make sure you're weapon buffed before hand as well, and you've got the elemental type right. Or not, it should murder bosses anyway
against normal mobs, just find normally, or use a single great cannon and spam cylinder slash or whatever it is. It hits the cannon like 4 times at once, sending out a fuck ton of shots

We had just finished cautiously traveling across the area throughout the night, avoiding goblins and sticking near the coastline. I wanted to double back and check out the spires by the cliff since I felt safer doing it in the daylight in case there was a gobbie camp there. Was wandering around looking for treasure when the rock I was near just fucking stands up and starts blasting us with lasers. Leaping on that motherfucking and stabbing his gems out until he went berserk and almost killed us all was so fucking intense holy shit. And making him stagger and fall over after nailing his heart disc with a charged up arrow was so insanely satisfying.
