That's funny. The codename for the Gamecube was the dolphin, it's what online/magazines called it.
>>
>>324274339
Yes, that's why the emulator is called Dolphin, it's a Gamecube emulator, however it was expanded to also run Wii games

Dolphin is the name of the GC/Wii emu.
>>
Look through the settings and see if there's a "gaming mode" on it.
My friend had the same problem, his TV had input delay for his games. All he did was switch the mode and it worked fine.

Is it a Samsung? Open up the source menu, do a long press on the input and select the rename options. Choose PC from the drop down menu and things should happen.

Yes, it's undocumented and dumb, but it helps a fuckload
>>
>>324273056
Buyer beware, dude.

We have the internet, we have ways of looking up input lag and shit. You should have asked here or /g/ before sinking your money

>Smart TV
Do they even make "dumb" TVs anymore? What's the point of having built-in Netflix and shit when you could EASILY get the same from your game console or PC?

Look for motionplus or whatever shit upscales the framerate to 120fps. Turn it off.
If it's still bad switch to gaming mode if your TV has it.
>>
>>324274883
>>324275162
It's a "Hisense", some knockoff brand.

I've already disabled the 120 and overscan and as many postprocessing shits I could find.

You paid that much for a no name brand? How do you people even find these TVs with shitty input lag?
>>
>he didn't fell for the monitor meme

This is why we keep our CRT for retro consoles, and read reviews on new TVs for figure out the input lag.

Also, don't buy a fucking Kirkland or Nabisco brand TV for fucks sake.
>>
>>324275902

You spent 800 for a smart TV made by a fucking no-name company, instead of getting a 55inch Samsung 4k TV for just $100 more?

Dude, you're actually really fucking stupid.
>>
>>324277791
The average consumer isn't informed, which is sad considering we live in an age where you can look up something on your phone in less than 10 minutes.

CRT > "lagless" monitor > hdtv

Nothing is going to be faster than a tube tv because that's not what the industry cares about.

Using less electricity by having less electronics turned on.
>>
use the 'game mode' in the TV and it will eliminate the input lag where you will never notice it

whats stupid is he bought an 800 dollar tv and uses av cables on his console. if you can afford a tv that expensive, surely you can buy fucking component cables.

i hope that tv breaks or short circuits before you can return it

This seems to be a tv thread so I'm gonna go ahead and ask something.

I've recently noticed that my TV has a perfect rectangle that looks darker than the edges, like if I had gone into Photoshop and placed a 40% opacity black rectangle in the middle of the screen. Is my TV dying or what? It's a pretty old Vizio

I didn't buy it, it was my mom's and she gave it to me a couple years ago. So far it has been a very good TV, and I believe it has close to 10 years but I really don't remember.

OP here
I remembered I had some unopened Wii Component cables and I replaced the a/v with those.
Now the lag is still noticeable but it's reduced to about half.
Also I misremembered, the TV was more like 600 not 800. I bought it 2 years ago.

Fuck smart TVs running an "android" OS. I'd love to have just a screen with no processing. Hopefully my grandma will die soon so I can have her little CRT TV in her room.

Jesus fucking christ. You would rather have your grandma fucking DIE instead of just picking up a Trinitron at a thrift store for 5 fucking dollars?

Your grandmother is worth less than 5 bucks to you?
