Is it a Samsung? Open up the source menu, do a long press on the input and select the rename options. Choose PC from the drop down menu and things should happen.

I remembered I had some unopened Wii Component cables and I replaced the a/v with those.
Now the lag is still noticeable but it's reduced to about half.
Also I misremembered, the TV was more like 600 not 800. I bought it 2 years ago.
Fuck smart TVs running an "android" OS. I'd love to have just a screen with no processing. Hopefully my grandma will die soon so I can have her little CRT TV in her room.
