I used to have a lot of fun as a kid playing a racing game with a friend, we'd each use mini coopers, and we'd set one CPU alongside us driving some ridiculously fast supercar. Our goal would be to work together to ram the CPU backwards and achieve a whole reverse lap. It was pretty tough- since we were physically small cars we couldn't fully block the track even if we worked together, and the CPU getting past us even for a second would mean we'd lose 1-2 corners of progress due to their speed. It sounds pretty dumb but we were dumb kids.

Halo 1. It's been almost 15 years so I can't remember the level but it was indoors in a hangar with a bunch of bridges and platforms at various different heights near the ceiling. Me and my cousin used to turn on unlimited plasma grenades and turn everything else off, then strap as many grenades as we could to each other and try and land ourselves on the high platforms with our ragdolling bodies. Higher platforms had higher points, and you could sometimes get 3-4 plasmas at once before the first one detonated. It was pretty damn good.

I agree i like both ways. However the top players literally breath and eat competitive smash. I don't think i have ever seen them play with items on. I have however seen them play on banned stages and low tier characters before but i doubt they would play with items on.

My friends and I used to play "forts" in Mario Kart 64. We'd enter the arena mode or whatever it was called, and launch that square track with the four different colored structures in each quadrant. Each person would declare a structure to be his fort, and then we'd all just drive around collecting banana peels and those bogus item blocks to place around the perimeter of our forts & ramps as "defenses" and then try to snipe each other with green shells.
Man, that was fun as hell.

This game was better than gambling. I've wasted 10 hours doing this with friends. It's so much fucking fun.

I would play multiplayer on Rome Total War a lot, but there would be those faggots that pick a town defense, make their rules be no artillery or elephants, and pick the Greek City States and choke all the points with veteran spartan warriors with great equipment.
The moment I went into a game and saw the settings as a town battle with huge money and the host was locked in as the Greek City States I fucking knew he was going to pull that dumb turtle bullshit
so I picked Rome, got some praetorians as a defensive line, lined the rest with artillery and just burned the town to the ground before quitting.
he was incredibly butthurt that I was killing his spartans with balls of fire and it was quite carthartic watching the town the spartans were "defending" burn around them.
Any time the engi had a busted update was the best
