But I always see people reference pro players and shit in chat and it's true that most of these people just want to be the next big pro player who gets paid to play the game all day. It helps a lot if you have a good commentator who can explain the complexity of the actions the various teams are employing.
Personally i've never played starcraft, but I love watching it because commentators like Husky and Day9 are so good at explaining the actions that are being taken and why it is so significant. After a while you get a general knowledge of the flow of the game, and while you can't replicate the actions of the best players, it allows you to better appreciate the when someone makes a brilliant strategic move. Just my 2 cents.
