Because it has more like 20 weapons, the setting is really good, and the plot has never mattered in any of the Souls games. Fantastic bosses, great music, and the patches have really done a good job at making it a proper, fun singleplayer game.

I still do not understand why people like Souls games past the first 2. Each game plays pretty much the same now. You move around a boss wait for an opening and attack. As fun as running/rolling around enemies is, the games have gotten stale. Worst yet the genre is now just infecting other games, at a time where the combat is now stale.
I may be wrong about Bloodborne I haven't played it yet, but from videos it looks to be the same as all souls games.

I died like 8 times to Vicar Amelia and have been pretty good against the rest of the bosses thus far. I'm stuck on Rom the Vaccuous Spider. So you can learn how to dodge shit? It's actually pretty easy just to dodge right past that. The boulder's there to teach you to pay attention (you can see it at the top of the stairs if you aren't rushing forward blindly) and to remind you that reflexes are important

demons souls has the worst bosses, least interesting boss mechanics, least varied and interestingly designed areas, the least balance, the worst weapon and armour design and variety, the least game length and replay value, the least interesting pvp choices, the worst graphics, the worst music in terms of production values, music that doesn't feel decent for the bosses in examples like the storm king/adjudicator/phalanx, least interesting world layout design in that it's level based and segmented, a lack of interesting characters, a barebones story that fails to be very interesting and has the worst gameplay mechanics and feeling through the controls compared to other souls games.

Because the life gems and countless ways to heal were stupid. You could grind a few of them and never have to deal with your mistakes. This encouraged shitty game design, as there were areas with mandatory damage and the boss arenas were large enough that you could just run, wait for the life gem to heal then go all out.
In BB and DaS what you have is tighter areas that require you to think about how you heal. In DaS, you only have Estus, which work like something to correct a mistake between each area, and in Bloodborne, the max 20 blood vials are enough to make you think before using them.
DeS is different because the level structure is not designed around finding shortcuts. They are there, but linear progression is more important.
Not to mention how DaS 2 recycled most bosses from the first game (although Bloodborne kinda did it too with Martyr Logarius and One Reborn). DaS 2 had so much filler, man.

DeS was my first and I was lucky enough to play it when it first released so it holds a a special place for me
DaS just improved on it
DaS2 was a step back in some areas, but a step forward in other. I like all the weapons,exploration, and secrets. I think it took the longest of all the games for everything to be discovered and I recently picked it up again and still was still finding new things.
BB had some great combat improvements and I enjoyed how most bosses had phases and visual changes as the fight went on.

I'd say that BB is about as good if not as good as Dks 1, but I prefer the pvp in Dks. Other than that, it's on the same level. Wish I could do a greater than or equal to sign for Dks 1 and BB.
