But they could ALSO be solved on consoles if the developers had any foresight.

Because humanoid enemies, even more so when fought one-on-one, are incredibly easy in general. Monsters that swarm you are by far the hardest, especially on higher difficulties when you die in a few hits.
And the only reason why Imlerith was harder was because he had that stupid shield and then kept teleporting right behind you repeatedly.
I'll post this here but how important is that free shield spell? I played for a few hours and felt like rubbish using it but group encounters weren't enjoyable without it. Is the game balanced around it or does it eventually stop being effective?
