Alter the re-roll/gear mechanics so you have a bit more control over things, adjust the map rotation system to be less restrictive, add voice chat for private lobbies, backing out of search lobbies and changing gear while waiting in a lobby, and a longer single player campaign.

Since everyone has pretty much mentioned what I want in the sequel, riddle me this: Splatoon was without a doubt THE game that benefited the most from being on the Wii U. Gyroscopic aiming allowed for both wild spraying to cover territory and accurate shots to get kills. The Gamepad screen acting as a map and method for super jumping allowed you to easily see how the match was going at any given time. Will the NX be compatible with the Wii U Gamepad or will Spla2n just have to manage with a regular controller?

Honestly there isn't a ton I would change about the game, just improve what is already there if that makes any sense, better online obviously, harder campaign I guess. I just really hope the next game pays attention to small details.
Splatoon really feels like a FIRST entry nintendo game, where everything as far as the theme and small little details are spot on and make you appreciate the game. I just hope that the pressure stays on for them and they don't fuck it up and lose the atmosphere this game has.
