I put that line in there because we legit conned Bawls into sponsoring just a small 10 man event by saying it was a regional thing with more people. We had one of my friends who knew enough about html and css make a webpage to look convincing and they fell for it. They sent us a banner for our event that we called Garage LAN as well as a few cases of drinks. My buddy still has the banner somewhere.
Shit wasn't even the best tasting or more effective energy drink, but I still buy it because it's a core part of my nostalgia for that era.

Right in the feels. Man this is the main reason I stopped playing these competitive games. I play just civ/EL or coffeebreak games like necrodancer lately.
I only hope that arena shooters fill the void now. I can see them getting a bigger fanbase in the near future with all these new releases but still small enough to be niche and not filled with cancer. Would be nice to have some LANs again.

I'm not the guy you replied to but the problem is that people today play tournaments online only. It's cheaper for the organisers. easier for players, but there is that social element that is missing where you got together with people and played and talked. This kind of small events are very rare today. I would love to see this come back in any way, doesn't have to be the same.
