This ensures prices will never drop below what they set it at. If you look at AAA companies, they're games always drop in prices after a few months due to everyone overstocking it and they can't sell em all.
It does promote scalping, but nintendo doesn't give a fuck about poorfags anyway. Either pay nearly full price for each first party game regardless of how old it is... or don't go nintendo next time.or just hack your 3ds like what everyone has been doing this past week.

Because they're jackasses, remember they originally advertise this new fire emblem entry as two separate games, then incorporated a dlc only final route and finally made a cart that contained all three in limited stock.
This means not only are they fully aware of their actions they are outright admitting the marketing scam by having physical proof all three routes can "fit" in a single physical cart.
Nintendo is fucking with us completely now. As someone who usually plays the straight and narrow when buying games I'm really tempted to follow suit and pirate this.
Since it's clear nintendo is doing everything possible to bleed it's fans dry.

But the difference is character art, maps and story is different.
Games like Pokemon and Fire Emblem Fates were created at the same time and they just split the story in half. It's basically making one game with two routes but then selling it as two different games.

The funny part about this is that in Japan almost any Nintendo special or limited edition is way over produced, yet in the west they hardly make any. I don't think Nintendo has realized that they have way more people in the west that actually want to purchase those limited goods. The Japanese special edition of Fates can still be easy found whereas the US version sold out very quickly.
