What the fuck is the itemworld even? I'm in chapter 4 and I had to go down into the itemworld to get some key leveled up which I can now equip. The monsters had 9 hp while the regular enemies in missions have like 300. Is it just to upgrade your items? Do the monsters get stronger when I go into weapons instead?

Levels up your items the further down you go in your item. There's a lot of stuff to know about it but that's just the basic description of it. Usually they have a guide in game to tell you all about what all the shit that happens in the item world is about.

There's a squad you can put characters into where the others gain a portion of exp that the leader gets, which you can use to level up multiple characters to 9999 insanely fast. Couple it with the statician innocent for a bonus 900% exp and 1000% exp in the cheat shop and it's insanely fast.

Monster units stopped sucking from D4 on, Magichange becomes much better as well. Further, while monsters can't lift they can bounce others off their heads and in D5 they have Mon-Toss which acts like an immediate lift and throw.
Humanoids are still better though but you aren't really gimping yourself using monsters.

Her Overload is the most useful to have on any generic you make, as it deals heavy damage to everyone on the field. She's also useful to magichange, not sure about on her own, though.

I went back after finishing DD2 and played Infinite. Adored it, as I adored the original. Flonne's VA really doesn't get enough work, she's top-tier.
