PCfag here. How come there aren't any emulators for the recent PlayStation systems? There are a couple of PS3/PS4 games I'm interested in, but I'm not about to give those scum at Sony any of my money and I wouldn't buy a whole system for one or two games anyway. I know there's stuff out there like Dolphin for Nintendo systems, but nothing like that for PlayStation.
Is there just no demand for the Sony stuff or something? You'd think people would be chomping at the bit to play stuff like Journey or Bloodborne without being restricted graphically by that weak laptop processor.

I own all ps one games, that i play, well played (laptop started overheating), on ps emulator.
Fucking retards all of you. Emulators don't just appear because enough people Bitch that they want them to exist. PS3 has a very unique processor/gpu and games are designed to to the metal in order to get as much performance as possible. Computers have very different architecture and require additional layers between the software and the metal to emulate systems. The reason it works for other consoles had to do with how today's computers are magnitudes stronger and older consoles didn't have such different custom hardware. Even some ps2 and Nintendo games aren't 100% because there are so many smart ways developers used the hardware that fucks with an emulator because it only works in a 99% similar way.

By that i mean they aren't going to help it along. People have managed to get around whatever blocks they may have had or they never thought to impose any at the time they made the console. You can bet that there is some sort of DRM that is there for the purpose to stop games from running on non sony hardware additional to the closed nature of the code where emulator developers have to go blind if they were to try to make one for the PS4

The key problem that the PC faces when attempting to emulate a recent console is that the primary PC platform is dominated by a console company. That conflict of interest gives the console industry the ability to restrict the PC in key ways that make the emulation of recent consoles more difficult.
That is in part why the power of GPUs is restricted without the installation of spyware, and why software built with the most used development tools are still generally optimized for CPUs with 4 or fewer cores. If more PCs had access to 8 or more threads, or had access to the full capabilities of a modern GPU recent consoles would be less of a challenge.
