Not that guy but you got a i7 when there is little benefit for gaming from i5 then threw money at nothing on a "gaming" motherboard and proceeded to gimp yourself with a GTX970 when the money could have been better spent on 980/980 ti instead.

No one is jelly, you're just uninformed.

No one is getting btfo. It will still work for games as intended. It just isn't optimal for what he could have done and will require upgrading early on.

He could still get some use out of that i7 if he uses it for other non gaming CPU intensive purposes but I highly doubt it since he then went ahead and got a gaming mobo. That shit is just a waste of money especially if he won't exploit its features. If I could spend any amount I wanted I would get a "gaming" motherboard just for shit and giggles but not if it meant having to get a weaker GPU.

Basically since Ivy Bridge, Intel have been putting shitty thermal materials in their CPUs (which can be fixed, but wouldn't recommend it for newcomers) - this leads to shitty overclocking and thermals so you need better coolers to cool them.

my G650 seasonic shit the bed 3 months after I purchased it and had to go for RMA.

Funnily enough my shitty ass bronze coolermaster PSU has a better power switch at the back. If you slowly try push the switch it quickly snaps to the other side.

Meanwhile with seasonic it doesn't immediately snap and reaches half way unless you press it with enough force for it to snap into the other position.

>>
>>323446535
It takes a special situation to make your card go over 3.5gb of vram.

The pic in >>323444835 is one of those situations. The player purposely sat on a very high position in assassins's creed unity and just looked down at the npcs. The card is then forced to keep rendering wandering npcs to fill the screen until it goes over 3.5gb of ram, and then it craps itself.

Normally, Assassins Creed Unity would never have to go over 3.5gb of ram, but it can happen. And that was done all in 1080p.

Hilarious.

Intel already released their new CPUs for the most part, and they are a downgrade in several areas. Which I think they are meant to be.

The best bet is waiting to see the new GPU's by both companies, and seeing what AMDs next cpu is.

I don't know shit about PC building, what is "meme gear"?
>>
>>323448775

i thought skylake was more like a sidegrade, performance wise, except it takes less jigawuts going through it ie less heat.
>>
>>323449274
He's not bragging he just posted a pic of his shit while asking for games. He explicitly said semidecent. Why do you have to get so insecure about it as to believe he is saying "HAHAH LOOK AT WHAT I CAN BUY AND YOU DON'T"?

>>323449487
so the 970 is a shitty card? I understand the 3.5 meme and that the 390 is probably a much better choice for the price/performance but really? A shitty card? It can run most games with high settings @ 1080p and is more than a hundred dollars cheaper than the 980
>>
>>323449664
Popular components that are generally not worth getting. Sometimes they're just popular and overrated, but in the case of the 970 it's a very popular product that is definitely not worth buying at this point.

I do love how the thread went on to the regular /v/ hate everything mode, truth be told I got this set up for a stupidly low amount of money like 800Euros the whole thing along with 120gb ssd and a 2tb WD HDD. Not why I made this thread though. Funny how no one even bothered recommending games

This config goes for about 1200 euros where I lived. A friend of mine just happened to buy wholesale hardware so I got it from him paying the prices he paid hence the price.
>>
Every 970 that Nvidia sells now makes them a happy happy jew when they drop the Pascal next year without having to reduce the price of their current cards yet. Plus they get to fuck over the current gen of cards when they release pascal.
>>
>>323449872
usually overpriced on mediocre items. My personal grip is that I just don't like the green/black color combo. Some of their products are decent like the mouses they have.
>>
>>323449714

Skylake is a slight improvement in performance. The major difference is that it supports DDR4 whereas Haswell supports DDR3.

just make sure you don't move your case around too much. I heard skyrim cpus bend from vibrations when moving your case. It's easier for that to happen than you think
>>
>>323440917
I got the exact same GPU just about 2 months ago.
The cooler is really damn quiet when it runs.

But I'm exchanging it for a new one with 6GB when AMD releases the 400 series and they're good.
>>
>>323445905
>>323445598
Since he already has a very good CPU, he can run them at a higher resolution, which is a massive improvement for nearly all games.
>>
>>323449872
even their mechanical keyboards stopped using quality cherry mx switches and then they started using a rebranded lower quality switch to make more money.
>>
>>323444794
If you can't emulate a game on an i5, you won't be able to on an i7 either.

That being said, I can emulate Wii games in fucking 4K with my 4690.
>>
>>323449050
not him but to be fair I got an msi 560ti with a shitty rear fan that they didn't let me rma. The fan got to the point where it wobbled so bad it would partially unseat the card. I could still play games with it like that but with horrible artifacting and polygon stretching unless I opened up my case to seat it again.
>>
>>323455824
I have an i7. Can I emulate ps2 games yet or is the technology there anon senpai?

They're the same price as all the other goofy Ti editions out there. But it does have a pretty high stock clock, and can OC decently enough.

Though there's even faster cards out there.
