Mind defining what a casual is, first?
>>

This. Someone will post there 10,000 hours in a competitve game and all the replies will be

>GAME
>not casual

Are you the guy who started that other thread to ask the same question and then pretended not to understand the answers given? Just in case you're not, I'll humor you and answer the (very stupid) question.

Technically, a casual gamer is someone who isn't an enthusiast, and typically plays video games infrequently, perhaps to kill time while sitting on a bus, but would never self-identify as a "gamer" if it hadn't become trendy for dumb ass hipsters to do so. The implications of being a casual gamer include a lack of skill in any video games which actually require skill, because the casual gamer typically avoids these games except perhaps to play them on easy mode "for the story" before complaining on Tumblr that there was no fast-forward button to skip the gameplay.

The typical lack of skill is the reason "casual" is used as an insult, and that's the context in which it was used in the original post.

Now you know.
>>
>>323385626

This is a very different definition from what lots of other people in that thread gave. I wonder why that is, hmmmm.
>>
>>323383020
I've played the 1997 version of frogger every day for 19 years, I have thousands of hours of play time. I can make it through every level without dying once.

So you are him. Fuck off.

Also, the answer is generally consistent with those given in the other thread. Even if it's not, you need to get over the fact that some words can and will be used in more than one way, correctly or not. I'd like to see everyone on /v/ give the exact same definition for any word. Start a thread asking /v/ to define "RPG" and you'll get far more varied answers than the one you got when you asked them to define casual.

Arguing whether or not a game is an RPG is just as stupid as arguing whether someone is a casual or not because just as you said everyone has a different idea of 'what fits'. So it's practically meaningless.

Feel free to try again.

That's what I'm telling you.

>Feel free to try again.

Try what again?

Look kid, you asked me to define the term and I gave what is, to the best of my knowledge, the general consensus of what it means and how it is used. Everyone else on this board understands what it means, especially in this context.

If you're so triggered, just close your eyes and pretend the original post says "You have 10 seconds to prove you're not bad at video games."

Kind of.

I mean, I knew someone would get mad and I posted it anyway.

But despite the main game being super easy, those challenge maps were pretty hard.

I am a casual. I am not good at games, I avoid games like Dwarf Fortress and I spend maybe 1 or 2 hours playing games every day.
I am probably less casual than the majority of /v/, but I am still casual.
>>
>>323388832

How does it make any sense to go month/day/year? Ideally it would be year/month/day like we all read a clock, but even then day/month/year just makes more sense. God damn.

This game is incredibly hard. Full of hitscan ennemies, invisible mines and sniper that one shot you, finished it on the highest difficulty settings. I also play Dwarf Fortress and Nethack once in a while.

Most of the ennemies won't be too hard, but the snipers, mines and also mortar fire and airstrike can fuck your day.
