Why is the battery life on ps4 controllers so bad? It feels like the ps3 one lasts quite a bit longer.

If you could turn off that stupid light, it'd probably last longer.

You can, using a PC. It doesn't get any better btw.

Nothing will ever last as long as a PS3 controller again so you can get that out of your head right now.

What drains the battery is the touchpad, though.
>>
i remember the battery on the ps3 controller lasting forever

tried the ps4 controller for my PC and it lasts like 2 hours

this is why wired controllers are forever the best choice.
Don't have to worry about charging them or battery's going flat or anything like that and unless your room is the size of a throne room you should not have to worry about the cord not reaching

Capacitive touch panels require constant power flow to the parasitic capacitive coupling links.

That touch pad is what's killing your battery.

It's funny, as a kid and teen I yearned for wireless controllers to not just be the realm of madcatz trash (exluding the wavebird)

Now I use every controller wired when possible.

thats because wireless controllers were at the time this cool new tech and friends (especially as a kid and teen) are retarded and trip/walk right through the cords
These days you are on /v/ so chances are you don't have many, if any proper IRL friends anymore and the cool factor of wireless has long since passed
>>
Who the hell asked for touchpads and lights anyway? Or sixaxis or voice commands either? Or a speaker? A fucking speaker, on a controller? Those goddamn crazy Japs.
>>
That fucking light on the front you can't turn off. That's why.

No, it's not. You can hack it, plus you can already dim it.. and it makes no difference. It's a few minutes at most.
