I don't think Ciri falls under the general Mary Sue, but she is an incredibly boring character in the game, mainly due to her godlike powers and her obvious lack of character flaws. But you're right, Dante's appeal is that he's first and foremost designed to be fun to watch and play as. That sort of ridiculous character is something that usually only works in vidya and 80s action movies. Generally it's not good to right a character who's a Mary Sue. You want your character to not be perfect, have flaws, and be relatable, so they can be complex, with a lot of depth.
