I thought that she's actually decent as a more Boy-ish sounding Naoto, but something about the voice she does makes her sound like a chain smoker desperately trying to hide the wear on her voice. Which is weird, because her normal voice is nothing like that. She completely falls apart when she has to do something with a lot of emotion or gets flustered, though, showing that she clearly isn't a pro. It just makes me wish that Brina Palencia would finally relocate to LA and take over for her.
And I don't really hate Burch. She's great outside of animeand in the Steins;Gate dub, but every sweet anime role she's had has this super weird speech cadence that telegraphs that it's her from a mile away. That, and there was very little variation between how she spoke as Rise and how she spoke as Rei.
It's funny, because I'm sure the localizers at Atlus USA would get real snippy if you criticized their writing for being unable to suspend disbelief, yet that's exactly how they are on the sound production end. You would think that Atlus would cast brand new actors for the lead roles, at least, but I don't have any faith in them. I'm just hoping my boy Robbie Daymond gets in as either the Phantom or as Ryuuji. He's versatile enough to pull off both really well.

Number one, the game is launching on both platforms. That's hardly a case for either being a "port".
Number two, a port isn't necessarily a bad thing. The PS4 release will run on stronger hardware and thus likely run at a higher resolution and framerate. There may even be higher textures, more objects on screen, and a higher LOD.

In fact, that was the whole point of the Fox Engine. It was designed specifically to build a game with the intention to release on multiple platforms right from the base of the game itself. There were no ports in the case of MGSV, including the PC release. Each version was a native build.

Yeah, it really makes me disappointedas someone pursuing voice acting as a career, though not necessarily in games. Actually reading up on things and developing my technical skills both in terms of acting and in audio production really makes me disappointed in their output lately. I'm more attuned to bad takes that really shouldn't have been cleared to ship in the final product, and I can hear any mishaps with how the audio itself is handled, like excessive sibilance or too much plosive. I'm at the point where I'm constantly at odds on whether to use dual audio or not. On one hand, the English audio lets me dissect things more for personal study, but the Japanese track lets me turn my brain off more and just take in the story.

The delay probably has more to do with spacing out Atlus' releases than any real necessity. KOWASHITAI and FINAL are releasing very closely. If Persona 5 was going to launch at around the same time it would cannibalize the sales of those games and put all of Atlus' profit in a single quarter which isn't healthy.
