Just got an N3DS, is this worth buying?
I got is a few days ago and have been pouring time into it like crazy. I start playing and suddenly it is four hours later.
Just emulate it, it looks shit in 240p

I bought this as a Christmas present for myself (along with a 3DS) and I've really enjoyed it so far. I appreciate the way you complete quests without having to walk back to the NPC who gave you it.

You know, I'm curious about that,too but it looks like rather than something like Kingdom Hearts in it's battle system it's a 3 person turn based system where you still have freedom of movement but you still need to go through a menu at the same time. Plus I don't see any waifus. Even smash bros I didn't see a love interest for Shulk but some annoying thing and some dude in a vest.

If you didn't get it for Wii, I'd suggest it. I have it on N3DS and it's fun. Runs surprisingly well, sense of scale is mostly retained. Looks like hot garbage but that's to be expected.

It's not a very intense game. On N3DS I need to use the shoulder buttons though, so I'd probably use a GameCube or 360 controller.

My only experience with MMO''s is watching Log Horizon, does that mean, for example, if I were to use Back Slash or Air Slash,I'd need to dodge and run til a meter ran out or something? Does Shulk call them out like he does in Smash bros?

Once the meter is up for the ability, you can position yourself near the enemy and then use it. Then you'll have to wait for the cool down before you can use it again.

You don't need to dodge or run around, the cooldowns are all timers (I think some are improved by certain actions?)
Also yes they all call out their abilities and never stop talking. You'll actually get sick of it by the end of the game.

You're not meant to go around clearing every available quest. You just do the ones where you happen to bump into the necessary enemy or item along your way.

Yeah definitely, the port is very solid and the game's a ton of fun. Obviously you won't have great textures or resolution out of a 3DS, so it's up to you to decide what you value most: good graphics while emulating it off Dolphin, or portability on the 3DS.
Also of note: the 3DS port doesn't have dual audio, so you only have the (admittedly VERY good) English dub, and not the original Japanese voices.

Dun and Karne didn't need my help half the time in Memories of Caldesia but those two would constantly yell for Sora to the point I mostly just followed them around and either went into drive mode when they did that or used a combination attack that kept them near me.
