Wrongo. Visceral Attack bigger enemies and they pop up at that spot when you re-enter the area.
>>

I probably died 20 times when i first encountered these before i learned how easy they are with the cane.

Why are the ones at cainhurst more powerful than the ones you encounter in the nightmare?

Also they are the hardest enemies in the game
>>
>>323157417
Anchor giants in the Fishing Hamlet are factually the hardest enemies in the game

They are a pain, try one at a time whenever possible by throwing pebbles at them when they're in groups. If your doing a DLC. Don't get behind them because they can kick you too (at least in the DLC). Try letting them attack first, usually a left or right swing followed by another swing, dodging past that last swing to get to their sides, hit them once, then back up, and repeat. The problem is they are sporadic and hit hard but you can mostly just avoid them in main game.

God have mercy on your soul, the charge up on that weapon is insane. I say look at their attack pattern for a bit and see how long they delay after each attack. Bait the attack with the longest delay and fuck them up. Also get more health with that build, it never hurts.
>>
>>323157829
Hitting them just as they're about to attack and staying close enough to not prompt them to do their leaping shit. When you get the timing down you kill them without even being hit. As long as there's enough space behind you keep backing away.

Not sure if the stake driver works well against them though.
>>
>>323157829
no, I think you can parry them, but the timing tricky
>>
>>323158229
Yeah, I'm using the runes that give you more health and all that jazz

It's just that when I get an attack in they immediately retaliate

I love the stake-driver though, works really well on any boss that has a power-up animation
>>
>>323157417
>Why are the ones at cainhurst more powerful than the ones you encounter in the nightmare?
The ones in the nightmare are a nerfed version that comes in groups but each individual one is less aggressive then the one at Cainhurst or the Chalice Dungeons. On the other hands only the ones in the DLC can spit at you.
>>
I'm glad you can just run past them.

They seem to appear where a huge amount of blood has been spilt. In Cainhurst's case there was the great massacre of the Vilebloods by the Church Executioners.

Whats the consensus on Chalice dungeons?

I really really like my first run through the Pthumeru chalice, but the second run already felt very redundant

Have you ever taken a wheel off a carriage and used it as a weapon? No? Then go back to your pussy life. The real men are fighting.

There probably wasn't a whole lot of Vilebloods to begin with, and the descriptions on all the Cainhurst-related items mention how pompous and arrogant they were, and how they often used shit just because they thought it looked cool. They probably underestimated the Executioners, who were much more brutal, efficient, and could easily gain new recruits.

>>
>>323179116
Well it sounds like many, though probably not all, of the issues were outside the team's control.

From what I understand the team got gutted to work on bloodborne, the funding was reduced, and higher ups told them to scrap the big overworld they were planning to have connect all the areas. Thats why the geography in the game makes no sense. It wasn't supposed to be like DaS1 where all the areas connect.

I mean it doesn't excuse the fact thta most of the levels are just 6-7/10 with very few high points, but the game did get somewhat screwed by executives it seems.

Why did you find it difficult?

Demon's Souls is generally considered to be the easiest souls game, so I dunno what Bloodborne will be like for you.

Once you've been through the first, subsequent dungeons don't provide enough variation to stay interesting. It's just the same dozen or so rooms copy-pasted a bunch. Same here. I wouldn't say I steamrolled the game my first time, but I did beat Wet Nurse on my first try and generally didn't get stuck for long. When I started a new character for the DLC, I got wrecked by the fucking Blood-Starved Beast like a dozen times, and I was using the Rifle Spear so I had pretty much every advantage I could have.
>>
>>323181565
That's a given anon, you're much more familiar than you could ever possibly be one your first playthrough
>>
>>323181159
Played through the DLC twice so far, first on NG and then on NG+. Must have died at least 20 times to Ludwig the first run through, but only took three attempts in NG+ when he's ostensibly harder.

>>
>>323157829
Never dodge backwards, always dodge left or right towards them. Their jump attack will always catch you in recovery after a backdash, so it's better to dodge towards them and stunlock them to death.
>>
>>323181754
Yes
Basically if you ever see a lone watcher or guardian standing around, don't visceral attack it because a bloodsucker will be there as soon as you turn your back
>>
>>323181887
On my first playthrough it took me 6 hours to be the bloodstarved beast. It took me 5 to beat the game on NG+

Playing though it now, just doing shrine of armana (or whatever it's called).

I was skeptical at first, thinking the changes were just adding difficulty for difficulty's sake but a lot of the changes are pretty good.

Worst changes are Heide's tower of flame (even worse enemy spam with perma-aggro heide knights) and Black gulch (invasions in an area you have to run through are shit) but in most other areas they lower the enemy counts and replace some of the most annoying stuff.

Torches now making spiders not aggro makes brightstone cove much much less of a slog (especially given it has the worse bonfire run in the game)

Iron Keep is one of the few areas in SotFS that I do think was unfairly changed. All it is was pasting alonne knights all over the place, its not even clever.

Other than that I feel most of the changes are not too unfair.
>>
>>323183915
What happened to iron keep? I only played scholar not vanilla.
>>
>>323183915

The increased number of free roaming knights who aggro you without being able to see you is a pain (as is putting two in a location to fuck people over who don't lower the bridge fully). They're generally easy to kill so long as you don't mind every knight getting a single hit in.

They did however remove the shittiest placed invade ever before the boss bonfire so it's not all bad.
>>
>>323179907

I got it over the Steam sale but didn't realize it required DirectX 11, my card can only run up to 10.

I'm devastated because I was hyping myself up for going a dark Paladin build. I guess I could just play vanilla and buy the dlc after refunding it during the next sale, all before eventually getting an upgrade but only 800 people are playing DaS II vanilla at any given moment.

Dragons Dogma is coming out soon, I guess my pain will be relieved then.

The silver sword inside of kirkhammer/ludwig's, cane modo threaded cane, and both forms of the church pick contain a hidden "righteous" modifier. This modifier affects all cainhurst/spirit type enemies (those frenzy ghosts in CDs).
