G4 has just been resurrected under a different, and much more hip name. You have been given sole responsibility of it's first batch of original programming.
How do you create a successful video game TV station? How do you make it different from G4?
I would be Catering to E-Sports first.
Then have internet Celebs like Jon Tron and etc. to have shows for primetime. After 12 will be nothing be Streaming games until 6am
Throughout the day have 2 min sections for news on gaming and technology.
that's all I can think of now

AGDQ with no sponsors or filters to make it "PG".
Have the games speedran be very entertaining to watch, No stepmemeia or RPGs. Stuff where the speedrunner can have style.
Break it up inbetween games with video game news or obscure game reccomendations.
>How do you create a successful video game TV station?
There won't be any video games.
Just reality shows that claim to have games then it cuts to stupid people screaming or chicks pulling hair in a fight.

>become the official station for e-sports, broadcast all the MLG championships, LoL championship, Blizz, EVO, etc.
>create a spiritual successor to Nick Arcade
>give Jon Tron a late night talk show and bring on game devs to shill
>give Game Grumps a reality show
>hire twitch sluts to dispense industry/game news and shill products
>televise the Completely Unnecessary Podcast
>create gaming documentaries, ranging from making of X to behind the scenes stuff like the classic Carmack v Romero debacle
>sucker bitchboi content producers from YT/Twitch by screening their videos and streams for free (because we're giving them free advertising to get more subscribers while we make money off of commercials)
>expand content to nerd culture in general because why the fuck not, picks up several additional demographics
>exclusive deal to produce Wesley Crusher's shitfest
>reruns of Red vs Blue, The Guild, etc.
>other YT gaming stars shows, basically offer a haven from YT's shitty payout from google ads
>late night Ring of Honor shows
It can't fail.
>How do you create a successful video game TV station?

>How do you create a successful video game TV station?
You don't. Broadcast TV is dead.
We make Top Vidya, of course.
>This week on TOP VIDYA
>James cosplays his waifu
>Hammond meets tripfag Manly Tears
>And we practice our Street Fighter skills... by getting in real fights!

It's backwards thinking at this point to try to shoehorn gaming into broadcast TV. Anything and everything it could offer is already offered by the Internet, and even with time shifting technology now widely available there would still be the massive hurdles of censoring content and creating something that could satisfy the full spectrum of "gamers."
The closest thing I can think of that would actually succeed would be a dedicated e-sports channel, and that would be more likely be a branch of ESPN than its own independent thing.
>All this eCeleb and speed running bullshit.
No. We definitely cater to eSports and bring in shows like Arena. We stay away from cancer. And we focus on shows that are about technology and video games. Basically just make it 2004 era G4TechTV honestly.
