Man OP, you suck. I played this when I was 12 years old and was able to kill Smilax easy. I can see why you are having trouble though. Peach doesn't have any good attacks at that stage, bet you were using her as your heal bitch. Bad idea for that fight. Should have brought in Mallow since Smilax is weak to magic something fierce. Mario, Geno/Bowser and Mallow is the best party to use against him. Equip true form pins on everyone and then just wail on him.
