FFXIV is not FF11 2.0. If you treat it as such, as I can tell you already want to, then you're going to have a bad time.

You don't ever form parties. You go to a zone. Take all the quest and kill 3-5 mobs for each quest (think easier than EEP con xi mobs) and then move on to the next zone. Some quests will make you queue for a dungeon and you get grouped with random people, finish within 20 mins and then get out and continue solo questing and move on to the next zone when you finish quests/over level them. By the time you hit level cap you've seen ALL the zones in the game and now you just stand in a small hub zone away from the cities and queue for instances like wow. That's your endgame.

Like did you know the Allagans created the Ixal, though they initially had wings? There's a couple wandering around in the Fractal Continuum.

The questing in this game is the absolute worst. Fuck going from place to place just to fucking talk to someone. That shit is lame.

People are also miraculously terrible at primal fights, I don't understand how.
