Honestly, this game is really great playing missions, but the gameplay is fucking awful.
>>
Honestly it is not
>>
>>323068436
You should specify.
>>
>>323068292
other way around
gameplay is good but mission design is too linear
straight outta a cod game
>>
>>323069169
Nah, it fucked up a lot of gameplay from IV, if not almost all of it, and most of the missions at least tell a story if they're not uniquely scripted.

OP should specify first, actually.

The gameplay is great and the OP's opinion is shit.

Kinda like how you never get pulled over for speeding or running red lights am I right?

That post literally doesn't make sense.

V fucked up almost everything about standard gameplay.

>>323071783
>not getting pulled over for speeding in a game is fine
>>
>>323071550
you need to realise they need so strike a balance between actual fun and challenge

it would be such a pain in the ass if everytime you drove on the wrong side of the road, you got a wanted level. people dont want "realism", they just wanna steal fast cars and drive dangerously.

i hear people complain they'd like 3's driving physics in V, but what an idiotic idea. 4 was fine since it was mostly all flat, even road. imagine V with it's hilly landscape, mountains, country side, etc. not even taking into the size and scale, it would be a pain in the ass to get anywhere quickly
>>
>>323071878
But except from not getting a wanted level for minor traffic shit like that, the police is fucking OP in GTA V. If you are on the top of Mt. Chilliad and kill a hiker, in 5 seconds there will be a police car next to you.
>>
>>323072226
>you need to realise they need so strike a balance between actual fun and challenge
>it would be such a pain in the ass if everytime you drove on the wrong side of the road, you got a wanted level.
The webm has nothing to do with that. The cops just disappear, which is a fresh "feature".

>>323072303
Are you making a point? In that case, realism would be more interesting.
>>
>>323068292
The only thing that I don't like is not having the option to eat. All those empty hotdog carts, makes me miss Liberty City.
>>
>>323069486

Actually they didn't. Go back and play IV, the character animations are sluggish and unresponsive. I used to think the ragdoll physics were better but even that isn't true, GTA V's far more realistic and fluid. GTA IV's driving is still shit btw, I've been saying that since it released.

The webms are plenty explanatory. You're also posting a very shallow "argument" about driving.

>>323072962

>>323073108

I don't see anything in that webm that couldn't take place in GTA V. And the majority of GTA IV's fanbase hated the driving at launch, opinions only reversed on /v/ after V came out. It feels like you're driving a boat on land.

there's also cool thing in V, like when you shoot a cop but dont kill him. He rolls over and shouts for help, and sometime other cops come over to drag him away to hide behind cars and treat him.
>>
>>323073614
If you think GTA IV's driving is realistic you've never driven before. V's isn't either but at least it's more fun.
>>
>>323073390
>I don't see anything in that webm that couldn't take place in GTA V.
How about NPC reactions to damage except for keeling? It would be humorous if you would try it and record what happens for us ^_^

>>323073739
>I've taken a turn at 75, honest!
>>
>>323073614
yeah that totally looks like some ordinary civilian car on a flat road with no modifications at all driven by a non-professional driver
>>
>>323073390
it's not driving physics that caused it, but poorly defines stats, like suspension or center of mass. Also many cars in IV was just unbelievingly undepowered
>>
>>323071550
in that situation, i expect the police come after you if it was a mafia game, not a fucking gta game
>>
>>323071651
The control in this game are fucking shit. I'm not sure if they intended to make it less responsive to "simulate" real life movement but its fucking frustrating as fuck
>>
>>323073885

>NPC reactions to damage

Literally the ONLY pedestrian reaction to damage in IV is the one shown in that webm. That's literally it. There's much more breadth to V's animations.

GTA IV's driving is not realistic, I'm sorry. You have never driven before.
>>
>>323074153
I believe point of this .webm is that after you lose your wanted level, police despawns second they leave your FOV

What's your point?

>>323074105
>Also many cars in IV was just unbelievingly undepowered
This is more relevant than the other points.

The stat system design is the same as V, for reference. It has the same potential properties, just not necessarily the same stats.

They seem to try to realistically portray vehicles, and they do a great job of it. V's models are just a little too arcadey to require much skill.

>>323074153
>Guys, GTA shouldn't have patrolling police cars at all. They should just disappear!

I've played over 800 hours of GTAV and online since 2013 on console and PC.

I hate the new physics, lack of interiors, terminator police, and tedious wanted system. It takes less time to lose 3 stars in 4 than 1 star in 5. It's also missing some tech from 4 and the story moves too fast.

I still like the game a lot.
>>
>>323074708
what's the point in the video? I'm assuming it's trying to compare it to "realistic"/4' physics, which is just plain stupid.

>>323075012
recent leaks have hinted that they're adding Liberty City as an Online location, probably part of the SP DLC (incentive for non-SP players to buy it anyway). Given that it's basically an MMO I wouldn't be too suprised, plus they've talked about doing it before in the long run.
>>
>>323075012
webm is terrible quality.
GTA IV also looks awful because of brown (IV) and piss (TLAD) color filters used. TBoGT removed them all together, and it looks great, especially nights

my god i feel so sorry for someone this delusional. I'm glad you enjoy the game, but the way you prevent yourself is cringe worthy. Shame because I love both games and would like to talk about them, but both sides seem to favour one and shit on the other completely, disregarding anything "good".

>>
>>323077297
this is something I don't understand. They make you put on helmet when on bike (unless you rush starting it), but seat belts are still undiscovered technology to them.

Jokes aside, taking damage and maybe some temporarly debuffs when crashing car at significant force would work well enough.

How to improve GTAV's story
>let Franklin interrupt Tanisha's wedding
>Trevor gets an optional side mission to kill Madrazo
>Michael gets the opportunity to buddy up with Madrazo, makes the above mission more interesting if you do this first
>more fucking Franklin in general, after CJ he was such a bonehead
>North Yankton prequel DLC, in the final mission (V's intro mission) this time you play Michael while Trevor goes berserk on the cops

Feel free to contribute, this is not a concrete list. There's plenty of other ways to improve the story.
>>
>>323077740
Not making Franklin such a Mary Sue in the story so that he doesn't seem more of a bipolar character than Niko
>>
>>323077541
c'mon now i cant tell if you're complaining, but this is just ease of play stuff. the guy below made a good point. it would be so annoying if you crashed your car in the middle of nowhere and had to walk back to civilisation, for example. plus it lets players experiment with more dangerous driving, instead of having the fear of flipping their car every time and getting in stuck.

>>323072226
>>
>>323077541
it's most likely to prevent players from losing their customized vehicles just because they're shit drivers.

Much better solution would be having to call car services that would (for a fee) recover, fix and deliver car back to safehouse.
>>
>>323077923
Holy shit this.
>"I'm tired of the hood and the guns and niggas and getting shot at"
>"yeah Lester, I'll gladly kill anyone for immediate profit like the nigga I am"

Its like on Chapelle with Rick James.
>Do you really think I'm that crazy, that I did X? Who do you think I am?
>...yeah I remember doing X
>>
GTAV was hugely disappointing.
-Low and bland variety of weapons (not counting GTAO updates, and even then generally they're meh or were nerfed)
-Suffers from Just Cause 2 map syndrome, but a good chunk of the map are unusable & empty, nothing to do on the map or with the map itself
-map is so lifeless, animals and peds and the WHOA NEXT GEN LOTS OF TRAFFIC FEATURE are extremely minimal and non-existant, especially if you look at GTAIV
-lowest and shortest mission count in GTA ever only 69 missions and like 10~ side missions
-no interiors, any that exist are locked out
-the most buggiest and unpolished GTA to date (even after like 3 years and 2 platform generations there's STILL out of map glitch spots and such)
-pyschic outspawn cops that makes getting and avoiding wanted levels not fun at all, cops even using bullshit mechanics to gain an unfair advantage over the player (cops tapping your car will force your wheels to turn hard regardless of how hard and from where they tapped you)
>>
>>323077740
>more fucking Franklin in general

and by extension more "gangsta" stuff. it's pretty funny 'cause I know the whole point of Franklin's interaction in the story was to expose people like myself who try too hard to be "gangsta", but I really wish there was more crimes to do in this crime "simulator". Drug deals, pimping, hold ups, etc., not necessary high-end crime like heists.

I have faith thou 'cause the amount of cut-content in these games is obscene, and hoepfully they all get re-iterated in DLC.

I'd love more "human" things to do; eating (stalls, drive-thrus, etc.), gym, sports, etc.

Alsp ways to make money. There's a casino which has gone unused, a horse track (could be cool for rigging races, etc.)
>>
>>323078831
Yeah I'd love all of that, definitely a lot more than what I mentioned in >>323078279
Literally jumps from being CJ to Agent 40oz
>>
It's an overall mediocre experience. Well worth $20 or so, though. It's a shame Rockstar's fucked up the PC's GTAO, it could honestly be something great if it were more open to modding.
>>
>>323074708
>my first gta game was IV
>>
>>323079925
Yeah I get a feeling that they missed the ball on this one. I still love it, but you can tell they didn't quite have enough experience in pulling off something that large scale. They've openly admitted that they realised they've made mistakes, especially given that something like GTA Online is essentially a console MMO which they've had no proper experience with. Hopefully 6 will be something truely special, especially with the new consoles (I feel the need to cater to PS3/360 also held them back somewhat)
