Friendly reminder that you can softmod your ps2 by installing freemcboot on your memcard, or even just go as simply as ordering a modded memcard online.

If you can connect your PS2 to your modem/router, or directly to a PC with a crossover cable, you don't strictly need to have the network adapter, you can safely load(at full speed, not USB 1.0 speed) games off a HDD connected to your PC.
