You say you've been playing for 20 years, meaning you started back when EVERYONE was playing, back when the games and anime were fresh and accessible and acceptable. You caught onto it because it was popular, not because you discovered it yourself and found something you legitimately liked. And between the constant pushing and pressure from the community and Nintendo, your nostalgia from entering a franchise when you were still in school, and you inability to leave your comfort zone and actually explore a fluid and fleshed-out genre, you've stagnated on a bandwagon that you should have left years ago.
Just accept that you never truly liked the franchise and move on to whatever new fad flavor franchise is.

This honestly.
I playthrough every Pokemon game I played at least twice, some tree times or more. Usually when I beat a Pokemon game, I put hundreds of hours into it. ORAS is the only game I've played in the series that I have no urge to replay. After I beat Delta Episode, I just put the game down and never looked back.
I might look at it when more ROMhacks comeout for it and stable emulation happens, but that wont happen for another ten years at the very least.

People shit on X & Y but I was never interested in endgame content in pokemon anyway.

I got two gyms into Y and four into Ruby before dropping each. Couldn't get into them at all. And I know it's not because I 'grew out of it' (I'm 25), because Black and White 2 were fucking awesome and honestly the pillar of the series IMO

Most Fairy types aren't bulky enough to stand up to most Dragon's secondary physical stab. Togekiss and Azumarril are like the only decent fairys

Fairies are only 2x Super Effective against Dragons. It's not any more effective than any other weakness.
I don't know why people are doing backflips over this matchup like it's significant. It's not like Dragons are fearing fairies any more than Ice or other Dragons.
