Played this first in year 8 7 years ago. I was a loser and sometimes would listen to the soundtrack and imagine what it would've been like if I were magically launched away into Nirn. The people there would've been nice to me, taken me in and allowed me to do small jobs for them across Cyrodiil, eventually getting enough money to live a comfy life in my house in Skingrad. This game was hilarious. There was a potion you could make that gave your character PERMANENT stat increases. And the item crafting just consisted of combining the same weapon with itself as many times as you wanted.
So you'd just collect 20 Shitty Swords and combine them into one Shitty Sword with the stats of all 20 added together. There was also elemental damage modifiers you could put on your weapons that could works the same way. It didn't take very long to make a weapon that could one-shot anything in the game.
Plus it crashed all the time. That said, I loved it.
I have about 20 hours into Two Worlds 2 and I liked it for the most part. Absolutely horrendous AI on some of the enemies, though. You could easily kite some things with just a tiny backpedal between shooting arrows because they would completely stop moving while doing their attack animation.

Everything in this game feels and looks like it's made from polyurethane. It's so incredibly plastic, and artificial, and lacks any attention to detail to make it believable that it ends up utterly and perfectly unimmersive. It's in fact one of the most uncanny, artificial-looking and immersion-breaking RPG's I've ever played.
The music is good, but it sounds better actually detached from the game, and frankly lacks more low-key and less "look at this epic LOTR-Rippoff we made for you" melodies.
The last immersive RPG Bethesda has done was Morrowind.
Gothic games were clunky as fuck, had worse art assets, worse music, and yet somehow managed to be more immersive than this. Witcher offered stuff like the fourth Chapter. Hell, Two Fucking Worlds was more immersive than this.

Actually, I don't. I prefer more historical and realistic fantasy, such as The Witcher 1 and 3 offered to the strangness of Nausicaa inspired Morrowind. But I still prefer well realized setting of any kind to poorly realized setting of any kind, and Oblivion is poorly realized. And no, there are no objective reasons here, because we talk evaluation and comparison, and those are rooted in normative, not objective standards.
That said, there are very concrete things wrong with Oblivion's settings, and they are worse than Morrowind in very concrete ways. Let's take two examples: First, it's utter misunderstanding of medieval architecture and urbanism - which is a problem since the game opts to go for faux-historical European style. Morrowind dodged this problem by creating it's own unique style.
Second, it lacks consistency or coherency. In Morrowind, different architecture styles actually reflect the historical and political context of the island - architecture is shared among fractions or social groups, or through tangible historical links. Oblivion has none of that - each city has it's own architecture which actually tells nothing about the overworld, and ultimately feel all the same despite having no consistency between each other.
In general, Morrowind simply tells it's story through the environment better. It has more layers, and actually fresh ideas.

There's an old game called Battlecruiser 3000AD that tried to do this. You could command the ship from the bridge, launch fighters and fly in one of them, and send marines to a planet in a dropship and play as one of them in FPS mode.
It didn't work out very well.

But i respect Oblivion comfiness, it's just that i tried to replay it like 2 years ago and was impressed for how shitty it looked outdoors. I remember being amazed by the graphics when it released. Indoors i think it still looks fine though. The music is a big plus as well.

Risen 1 is better in terms of graphics (obviously) and a more coherent open world. But it's a generally smaller game in comparison to Gothic 2, of which it's modeled after in terms of mechanics and tone.
But still goddamn outstanding as a game. No RPG I know promotes and rewards exploration, and punishes retards like Gothic 1/2, and Risen. Too bad Risen 2 and 3 were absolute fucking garbage.

I don't really remember the backstory but it's set on a few craters in Titan linked with tubes and shit. It's sort of like a space sim, so you control these moths (tiny flying vehicles) and you have to make money by scavenging, bounty hunting, buying and selling stuff, attacking ships to steal their cargo, the usual stuff. I heard that with the new patches you can send other people to do stuff for you, but I never tried it.
That's kind of all there is to the game, but that's what makes it so comfy for me. If you play it enough at a certain point you can forget about making money and just cruise around listening to the techno soundtrack, killing pirate ships and enjoying the scenery.
It doesn't look like much from the screenshots but I really enjoy it, the palette is very comfy and each crater has its own distinct look.

Also make sure to visit Captain Zedo's website, the game is pretty hard to pick up at first, it explains nothing.
