It was an attempt to reduce the amount of people using copyrighted music for their tutorial videos. In the past (don't know if they still do it now), they would just mute the video completely if they found any copyrighted music being used.

Actually I recently found a channel where two guys are playing a game and their commentary is pretty damn funny too.
