It's surprisingly difficult to remember good doors. "Iconic" is probably not what you're looking for since all I can think of are the red doors from SMB2
Imagine punching somebody so hard that they turned into a door. Then you found out that’s where ALL doors come from, and you got initiated into a murder club that makes doors. The stronger you punch, the better the door. So there are like super strong murderers who punch people into Venetian doors and shit.

Now that's something I haven't seen for a while

You arent kidding
I thought I'd be able to get one or 2 but just thinking about it for more than a few seconds I cant say I remember any super iconic doors. I would say the Skyrim one with the claw lock or whatever as a meme answer but doors are really something taken for granted a lot.

Giant portal 2 door
(Behind it is a regular sized door)
That giant vault in Portal 2 that just has a regular door behind it

High Charity's doors and the doors from Prey that open a certain amount based on your distance from them are the only game doors I can really call memorable.
>>322973105
If you made that up right now, you have some creativity.

Oh god I haven't seen this in years.

Is like a robots asshole

How about the doors from Doom?
used to be cool
>>322972769
Hey OP, don't be a faggot and include random corridors just to hide load times. Or if you do, please have the second door open automatically when the game is done loading. Nobody likes having to jump and shoot and shit through hundreds of doors to navigate a map

Does it need to be a door? Something different that works functionally the same could be cool. Like that force field around hyrule castle in wind waker keeping you away from Ganon. Functioned the same way as a door, you had to meet some condition to get it open, but it was cooler than just...some door.
Then again I guess any kind of roadblock in videogames functions the same way a door would in its place, other than bossfights or something.

I remember the first time seeing that and thinking it was so cool that I was looking at THE Dark Portal. Blizzard's probably fucked it up by now though.

the heavy steel block doors in walk-in freezer room in Half Life commanded a shitton of attention from me when I played it when i was like 10 years old. Making the scientists stand in the doorway then closing the doors and watching them explode into gibs made me laugh like a motherfucker.
