as a movie game it's not that good. the only thing movie like about it is the cutscenes. the gameplay itself is just plain old cover shooting. until dawn and even heavy rain and whatever are about making choices and shit at least but this is really as linear as it gets. there isn't really level design in the game, you know?
it's kind of fun at parts (that thermite gun is cool) but i wouldn't say it's worth very much. rent it or buy it used then refund it if you're interested in it.
Until dawn still manages to be entertaining despite the terrible dialog and teen drama, because you're only playing it to see who your choices get killed next. The order tried to be a shooter, and sucked at it

i thought it was going to be like 4 hours but it was at least twice that. the length isn't bad in my opinion. hell i didn't even find the low framerate that bad because it was at least consistent, and it was much less noticeable than a framerate dropping in a much better game like bloodborne.
but the gameplay is uninteresting. even compared to other cover shooters like gears, it's just really limited. it felt good to shoot, had a few interesting weapons to use, but they did like the bare minimum they could with their mechanics, enemies, and level design.

Sometimes it's great whenever a dev like Ready at Dawn show us all that they don't know fucking shit about making a game beyond making it look pretty. Keeps everything in check and makes the gud games look gudder.
