Also, how much max psi can you get? There's a feat for +15 psi with a headband, but that's about everything i've found. Also, i'm 10 will 9 int at level 6, and my psi regen is +14. Way to buff this up? Psychosis seems good later on, but still...

Also, i crafted a -7% psi cost headband, but that doesn't really help much as one stun + damage skill leaves me at less than half psi. Also, is there a way to reduce AP on psi skills?

I had the same thoughts. Now i spent 10 hours on it over 2 days and it's honestly one of the best games i've played in the past 2 or 3 years. It is a bit confusing, though. The best way to do it is to dedicate your first 3 hours to a character you create yourself however you like it. You'll learn what the skills do, how the combat works, what you need and what you don't. After that (i suggest level 3 or so on oddity), just drop this character, read a couple of these threads, answer questions (the threads are so welcoming and informative with little to no trolling it's surprising), and start a new character. It will all go smooth from there on. Don't be afraid to try new things!

I need some build idea critique. Basically i want to do a psionic scientist who uses a mix of chemical pistols and psi plus has high constitution thanks to his own insane experiments on himself. Armor of choice will be a psi regen tactical vest plus some good ~800-900 capacity shield.

Chem pistols have shit range. Optimal is 4 and max is 7. I don't think i need to go with higher guns score if i want to hit things and i will mostly use chem pistols when i'm running low on my psi. I have opportunist, aimed shot and execute though, so i can abuse my psi stuns.

I've taken a few constitution perks to be even more tanky. Last Stand should help to abuse Tranquility in a middle of combat.

The only weakness i see so far is high AP cost on chem pistols. But i don't need more than 1-2 shots per turn as i will combo it with my psi abilities anyway so i've skipped dex completely. Lockpicking with mark 3 tools will still allow me to crack 90 skill doors which are mostly used to bypass entire sections of areas anyway, and hacking with a haxxor 3 will allow me to hack level 100 devices.

Anything i should change?

On my first run through there and I am very very glad I read up on the game before I got to that point, only wasted about 40 points on useless shit by the time i got there and 1 bad feat. Depot A is not far into the game, hell its barely past the newbie fields. Bud you got 90% of the game left to go still so restarting wont be that big a deal.
Try something easy next time like a well planned pure psi build, makes the game too fucking easy imho. Playing classic normal and I am eating enemies for breakfast just using Thermal and thought control powers, havent touched my gun in almost ten levels.

Alright you glorious winged faggots, let's do something different.
Tell us all what type of character you're playing and how it has performed throughout the 3 stages of the game (Early, mid and lategame).
Also tell us about which enemies your build excels at fighting, and which enemies fuck your shit up.

Personally, I've been playing a Sledge guy. Early game was incredibly easy, as was mid game (to a certain extent), but now I'm heading into the later stages of the midgame, I'm starting to feel weak as fuck. Enemies hit hard enough to pierce my huge mechanical resist, and now there are lots of enemies using energy weapons and Psi abilities to fuck my day up.

Anyway, sledge excels at destroying bots, animals/insects/monsterswhateverthefuck theyare, and SMG + Knife users

Psi + Energy weapons + Assault Rifle + Sledge users are problematic, as well as anything that has an AI that likes to run away when you close the distance.

Let's see what everybodies playing.

AR, Sniper Rifle and Sledgehammer as the situation demands. AR is a great allrounder weapon throughout the entire game, especially my crafted Hornet with +25% burst precision and incendiary ammo melts entire groups with 1-2 bursts. The sniper of course is THE boss weapon, Reaper with heavy focus on critdmg oneshots pretty much everything. The hammer is only there because it was absolutely amazing early to early-mid game but after Core City it gets really weak. Still good if I want to save some ammo or bash some robots. All that with the biggest, heaviest armor I could craft of course and a pretty good energy shield. And if all that fails I throw some fucking napalm grenades and look on how the world burns.

Good crafting definitely makes the game easier.

Crossbow trapper build in early game, haven't hit depot yet and am exhausting all quest options/ breaking into everything for oddities and loot in preparation.

I doubt it is to be honest. Even with those Throwing Knife feats which look quite nice, they just don't see like they would be able to deal with any enemy that has even a little bit of armor equipped.

Psi-monk-throw with AGI for CON and no stealth

Pretty shitty early game because your hit% are bad, you do pitiful damage and you can't dodge shit. It being my second playthrough mitigated this as fuck and I didn't have to avoid any fights either so it wasn't so bad. Mid-game a breeze- throwing is king, that is all. Level 21/2 now and the build is coming into its own as far as punching goes.

Psi. Especially mind controllers but then those are shit vs pretty much everybody. Then again, staying out of their LOS is easy with grenades/Forcefield and killing them is perfunctory. Just gotta be sure to spot them first.

Core City. Catch the elevator, get to the merchants floor, head west once and it's the building at the top. Join Coretech later on if you want better versions of what that guy is selling.

Also West in the Foundry is pretty good. It's north-west of the rails, house on the bottom with some computers in it.

Disarming that bomb is tough, i fucking love it. Proper traps skill lets you know how to disarm it properly though, and its a multi step process that you can guess if you try it enough times.

I think you remove the panel first, then flip the second switch maybe? then the battery, then the black wire.

Evasion's listed the same way. So, not even 2/3rd of the attacks. More like 3/5ths of them, and you'll never know if you've leveled your Dodge or Evade high enough to hit that cap.

Holy shit, that partially worked. It says there's a hole in the hydraulic fluid reservoir though, and it still only registers 2 canisters. There were 2 I've put there before, and now I can only put my new 2 one at a time.

Agile, sneaky AR gal. 10 AGI, 10 DEX. Feats based around bursts- the combination of FUll-Auto, Spec Ops and Commando allows me to put of two 7-hit bursts per round, as well as throw a grenade or pop 2 extra shots.Combined with goggles that give 35% extra damage for special ranged attacks, I usually kill 2 guys per turn just with bursts. I also took Expertise for that delicious per-shot bonus, Hit and Run and Sprint for mobility, Uncanny Dodge for that situational melee immunity, and Aimed Shot for my emergency sniper rifle, when I just need something dead.
Most of the other feats are kinda wasted, except for Interloper, which makes sneaking around more fun.
Early game wasn't TOO rough(Depot A only gave me trouble in that final stretch with the mutants, near Wyatt's), mid-game was a breeze. Deep caverns were kicking my ass due to the fucking insane respawn rate(1.0.0.0), but the enemies themselves weren't tough really.
Also, the DC are an absolute slog. I must've spent like 8 hours in there just running back and forth.

What are you playing? A tanky sledge build?
You'll feel like a god up until Core City, then you'll realize how fucked you really are when enemies start using energy weapons and their aimed shots hit for 90 damage even through all of your resists.
Don't even get me started on Psi users. They will fuck your shit up.
