The external processing unit hardly does anything, like I explained in the previous thread it just splits things so you can different things displayed on the TV versus the headset, and applies the interpolation and warping. None of those things are very intense, Also if that guy asking why PC VR doesn't do that is still here, it does, it just need an external box to do that. PC VR only uses async timewarp for framedrops though rather than constantly like PSVR, because it does cause visual artifacts, can slightly mess up positional tracking (movement and tilting, turning is ok) and adds some blur.
